Unearthed is a Firefight map in Halo: Reach, set to be released as a part of the Defiant Map Pack.[1] It is a fairly large map set in a BXR titanium mine/refinery in the Viery Territory on Reach. Created by Bungie's partner Certain Affinity, Unearthed can support up to 4 players on any Firefight variant.
This particular BXR mine was built to take advantage of the exposed titanium inside a massive meteor crater. The titanium produced here is used in much of the UNSC hardware, from the chassis of the Warthog to the meters-thick armor plating of capital ships like the UNSC Pillar of Autumn. While this facility was quickly abandoned when the Covenant arrived on Reach, it still has significant tactical and economic value; it won’t be long before both the humans and Covenant return to battle for control...

- This map, along with Highlands and Condemned was leaked before the official announcement of the Defiant Map Pack
- This map includes similarities with the Halo 3 map High Grounds and the Halo: Reach multiplayer map, Boneyard.
