Alpha Pack is a multiplayer event for Halo Infinite held between July 19 and August 2, 2022. Alpha Pack was the third event of Season 02: Lone Wolves, as well as the second of four narrative events seen over the course of Season 02 and Season 03: Echoes Within.[1] It would be directly followed by The Yappening, with Mindfall continuing the narrative in March of 2023.

Overview[edit]

Plot[edit]

Taking place shortly after the Interference second cinematic, this event depicts Sigrid Eklund teaching lessons about the Lone Wolves to another Spartan.

Transcript[edit]

Intro[edit]

Sigrid Eklund is present at the Avery J. Johnson Academy of Military Science's firing range, aiming an MA40 assault rifle and firing semi-automatic at targets downrange. A set of weapons are laid out on a crate in front of her, while a scopeless M395 DMR is displayed on a stand in the background. She turns her head to face the camera.

Eklund fires one more shot downrange, before checking the weapon's firing port, then detaching the weapon's magazine and turning to face the camera, her pose at-ease.

  • Eklund: We've had each other's backs since the Vihar collapse. Without Dinh? I would have died more times than I want to count. But sometimes, you have to fight on your own.

Eklund takes a new magazine and loads her rifle.

  • Eklund: I'd like to see what you can do, when the only one who has your back... is you.

Eklund aims the rifle downrange again, pulling the weapon's charging handle before opening fire.

Outro[edit]

At the Academy's firing range once again, Eklund is sitting on the crate next to the range, facing the camera.

  • Spartan Sigrid Eklund: Not bad. You fought well on your own. But remember:

Eklund gestures towards the background scenery.

  • Eklund: Out there... beyond the safety of these walls, without resupply or reinforcements? Survival depends on your teammates and whatever you can find in the field. My gear, it's not... standard issue. It's necessity. History. A collection of hard choices. Someday, I'll fall, and whoever's left will pick up my pieces.

Eklund stands up and grabs the MA40 assault rifle resting next to her.

  • Eklund: But that's what it means to be part of a pack. And we always have room for another wolf.

Last Spartan Standing[edit]

Like with the Interference event, Alpha Pack's premiere mode was Last Spartan Standing.

Alpha Pack content[edit]

Alpha Pack's content could originally be earned through a 10 tier event pass over the course of its two week tenure. Ten of the twenty weekly challenges would be replaced with event-specific challenges, each rewarding an additional 100 XP, and a level up in the pass upon completion. While previous events had challenges exclusive to Fiesta or Attrition for example, Interference's were exclusive to Last Spartan Standing.

Helmet options earned through Alpha Pack would be made available on all armor cores during Season 05: Reckoning, with visor options becoming available on all armor cores during the August, 2022 drop pod in Season 02: Lone Wolves. The coatings within the event would be made available on all armor and weapon cores with the release of Fleetcom in July of 2024. Rewards earned through Alpha Pack's event pass would eventually be added to the Exchange during Anvil and Frontlines.

Weekly rewards[edit]

Two unique weekly challenges with exclusive rewards were available during Alpha Pack. Like the challenges used to earn levels in the event pass, these weekly challenges were tied to Last Spartan Standing, and all unlocked a Rakshasa-themed cosmetic option. Like the event pass' content, these rewards would eventually be added to the Exchange during Anvil and Brute Force.

  • The first of the event's promotional screenshots, as seen below, features a Spartan with a holstered Mangler. However, the ruleset of Last Spartan Standing was modified for the start of the Alpha Pack event, removing the Mangler from the mode.
