Anvil is an operation in Halo Infinite that ran from July 2, 2024 to July 30, 2024.^[1] The third and final operation of Content Update 32, Anvil would focus on Anvil Station and the Anvil Initiative, a joint collaborative program between the UNSC and Swords of Sanghelios, with Rakshasa-specific unlocks themed around the Sangheili.^[2] This fictional framing is a shared thread with Halo Online and Halo: The Master Chief Collection, specifically with Series 5: Anvil in the latter title. Anvil would be directly followed by the launch of the July Update, which saw the release of Fleetcom.

A short story titled Halo: Anvil Accord was released on July 22, 2024, to accompany the event.

Anvil content[edit]

Content for Anvil is available through a 20 tier operation pass, which is perpetually available through Halo Infinite's switcher. Anvil was initially free on launch, allowing players to progress through the operation pass over the course of its month-long tenure, with challenges and general XP contributing to the pass' levels. While free, players could purchase the premium pass for 500 providing a non-expiring operation pass which could be progressed at any time, along with the Smash and Grab SPNKr weapon model and the Rent Seeker weapon coating as bonus items. Upon Anvil's end, its operation pass was replaced by Fleetcom's pass, and locked to those who did not purchase it; as per before, it remains indefinitely accessible through Infinite's switcher.

Weekly rewards[edit]

Each week of Anvil would provide the player with 1,000 Spartan Points upon completion of the Score Master weekly ultimate challenge, which was unlocked after completing all other weekly challenges.

The Exchange[edit]

Anvil's release would introduce eight new cosmetics: two armor coatings, a wrist armor piece for the Rakshasa armor core, and five unique, new emblems. The Gray Avarice armor coating and Assailer Vambrace wrist armor specifically fill out the ASSAILER armor unlocked through the pass. It would also see Alpha Pack and Site Unseen's content added in for those who hadn't earned them in 2022 and 2023.

Shop bundles[edit]

Anvil saw the addition of two unique new store offers, one being a superbundle themed around the Banished, and the other being a small bundle themed around Mark IV. All content within these offers can be found here.

Production notes[edit]

The Anvil operation was originally announced as Spartan Surplus, however at some point the content within it was shuffled, and it was eventually retitled to Anvil for unknown reasons.^[3] The content within Spartan Surplus was Mark IV-themed , featuring the Ökonom helmet and the TAC/Gregor shoulders. A weapon charm and vehicle coating were also unlocks within the original intended track. Ultimately, the helmet and shoulders would be released through Infinite's store during the Anvil operation, while the charm and coating went entirely unused.

The exact order of unlocks were able to be seen for a brief period on sites using Infinite's API to display unlocks and upcoming events, and the original unlocks could be seen in the customization overview image for Content Update 32, showing a gray, Mark IV-clad Spartan using the now-swapped shoulders and helmet. Below is a table displaying the original Spartan Surplus event, prior to this change.
