Halo: Parasite's Wake is a Halo novel released on October 20, 2026, after being delayed from its original release date of September 29, 2026.[4] The book is a horror novel written by novelist Tim Lebbon set during the events of Halo: Combat Evolved and focusing on the Flood outbreak on Installation 04, told from the point-of-view of the UNSC Marines. The book follows-up on elements of Halo: The Flood, following Staff Sergeant Marvin Mobuto, a minor character first featured in that novel[1][2] and ties into the short story The Mona Lisa.
The audiobook version of Parasite's Wake is narrated by Michael Crouch, Joshua Riley, Tim Dadabo, Lisa Flanagan, and Kevin R. Free, with the latter two having previously narrated From the Soil to the Stars and Winter Contention respectively, in the audiobook version of Halo: Waypoint Chronicles - Volume One.[5]
The book features cover art depicting several classic designs from the original Combat Evolved illustrated by a Halo fan artist, Rythaze.[3]
