Zenoa 'Bindamee was a Sangheili warrior.
Biography[edit]
Battle of Installation 04[edit]
- Main article: Battle of Installation 04
During the opening stages of the Battle of Installation 04, 'Bindamee was assigned to the Ket-pattern battlecruiser Truth and Reconciliation alongside Seelior 'Andolee. After the battlecruiser was damaged by the UNSC Pillar of Autumn, 'Bindamee worked with 'Andolee and a squad of Unggoy to repair one of the many damaged areas. The two Sangheili argued about fighting the humans instead of exploring the wonders of Installation 04. The Unggoy finished the repair before the ship entered the ring's atmosphere and 'Andolee and 'Bindamee were contacted by Commander 'Rapamee with the news that they were going to be sent out in a dropship as a part of a hunter-killer unit for the humans. 'Bindamee conscripted the Unggoy repair crew as well as a Mgalekgolo pair he had fought with during the Fall of Reach.[3]
The unit located a human dropship, but 'Andolee kept the Spirit gunner from simply destroying the ship with the plasma cannon as it risked damaging Halo. The Pelican was disabled and the hunter-killer unit slaughtered the humans, losing two Unggoy in the process. 'Bindamee boasted of three, possibly even four kills after the battle was over. When a surviving human emerged from cover and tried to surrender, 'Bindamee blasted her legs for the woman to be crushed by the Mgalekgolo and celebrated having five kills. 'Bindamee suggested that she was trying to lead them into a trap while 'Andolee, who secretly knew English, understood that the woman was just trying to surrender and begging that she had children.[4]
Upon return to the dropship, the two Sangheili received word that artifact retrieval teams sent by the Prophet of Stewardship had breached a Flood containment facility and unleashed the Flood upon the ring, although it was supposedly contained once again. 'Andolee directed the dropship away from the Truth and Reconciliation and where the humans were known to be, secretly planning to carry out his true mission as one of the Truthseekers.[4]
Death[edit]
The unit later found a crashed human dropship with the Flood surrounding it. 'Bindamee foolishly sought to fire on the human survivors under attack by the Flood instead of focusing on the greater threat of the parasite, leading to an argument and near fight between himself and 'Andolee. As the Spirit moved in to attack, 'Andolee was able to get the gunner to strafe the Flood on the first pass.[2]
Staff Sergeant Marvin Mobuto was able to shoot down the Spirit with an M41 SPNKr, killing many of the Covenant troops. Emerging from wreckage, 'Bindamee deflected a second rocket with his point defense gauntlet, but inadvertently sent it into one of the Mgalekgolo instead, killing it. As 'Bindamee and the surviving Unggoy attacked the humans, the remaining Mgalekgolo, furious at the death of its bond brother, turned on 'Bindamee. 'Bindamee sliced off the Mgalekgolo's leg with his gauntlet and fled for the crashed Pelican, relentlessly pursued by the Mgalekgolo as the Spirit suddenly exploded. When Andrea Green charged towards him, 'Bindamee paused and stood to fire at her, but Andrea was able to dodge. Mobuto, Charlie Collins, Sandy Amor, Gabriel, Paxton and Xander gave her covering fire. While 'Bindamee's shield deflected most of the fusillade, one round blew apart his lower leg. 'Bindamee tried to crawl away, but was killed by the next barrage of fire.[1] 'Andolee then killed the remaining Covenant forces and surrendered to the humans.[2]
Personality and traits[edit]
'Bindamee was a hot-tempered warrior who was eager to see the destruction of the humans. While he acknowledged humanity as worthy opponents, there was a note of contempt in his voice while doing so. 'Bindamee was overconfident in the Covenant's ultimate victory over the humans.[3] 'Bindamee considered English to be only human gibberish and the humans having nothing to say worthy of the Covenant.[4]
'Bindamee held the same reverence for the Forerunners and their constructs as was common of members of the Covenant. 'Bindamee was also completely loyal to the Covenant and would likely kill Seelior 'Andolee himself if he was aware of the other Sangheili's more heretical leanings.[3][4]
'Bindamee was foolishly single-mindedly focused on the task of killing humans, wanting to kill the humans himself so much that he refused to recognize the fact that the Flood was the greater threat. 'Bindamee was willing to challenge 'Andolee for trying to stop him which would indeed prove 'Andolee right about how foolish 'Bindamee was. 'Bindamee only wanted to engage in yet another battle, increase his kills and gain a promotion to sub-commander.[2]
