Winter Contingency III is an operation for Halo Infinite that ran from December 19, 2023 to January 30, 2024. The second and final operation of Season 05: Reckoning, Winter Contingency III focused primarily on the holiday season, with thematic rewards fitting the original event and its sequel event during Season 01: Heroes of Reach and the Winter Update respectively. Winter Contingency III would be directly followed by Spirit of Fire.[1][2]
Winter Contingency III content[edit]
Content for Winter Contingency III is available through a 20 tier operation pass, which is perpetually available through Halo Infinite's switcher. Winter Contingency III was initially free on launch, allowing players to progress through the operation pass over the course of its month-long tenure, with challenges and general XP contributing to the pass' levels. Players could purchase the premium pass for 
500, providing a non-expiring operation pass which could be progressed at any time, along with the Ice Fissure armor coating as a bonus item. Upon Winter Contingency III's end, its operation pass was replaced by Spirit of Fire's pass, and locked to those who did not purchase it; as per before, it remains indefinitely accessible through Infinite's switcher.

Weekly rewards[edit]
Six unique weekly challenges with exclusive rewards were available during Winter Contingency III. Akin to Combined Arms, Winter Contingency III's rewards weren't all explicitly tied to the aesthetic of the operation. None of these items would be added to the Exchange.
