Sword Base is a multiplayer map appearing in Halo: Reach.[4]
Universe and lore[edit]
The map is set in the Office of Naval Intelligence's SWORD Base, situated along the Babd Catha Ice Shelf of the Eposz super-continent on the Human Inner Colony world of Reach. The base was attacked by the Covenant early in the Fall of Reach,[5] and was destroyed somewhat during Operation: WHITE GLOVE much later.[6]
Prior to this though, the atrium boasted a minor collection of recovered artifacts and materiel from elsewhere, including those that were recovered in Operation: GUARDIAN LANCE on Jericho VII.[7]
Overview[edit]
Layout[edit]
The map is described as "the stepson of Prisoner and Boarding Action". It is a small, asymmetrical slayer map with three gravity lifts and a series of bridges and walkways leading over a central atrium.[2][8] It features many external and internal stairways and rooms, making it an appealing map for Infection games as there are many strategically controllable areas and vantage points.

Production notes[edit]
Sword Base was featured in the Halo: Reach Multiplayer Beta. Sword Base has changed very much from its Beta iteration; the walls around the facility have been destroyed and burnt, with large amount of debris on the ground. The Gravity Lift in the center has also been weakened.[citation needed]
Trivia[edit]
Using the Forge turret glitch, one can get behind the large door found on the ground level, and out of the map.
