Template:Multiplayer Map Infobox Template:Article Quote Powerhouse is an asymmetrical multiplayer map appearing in Halo: Reach. It is set in a hydroelectric facility on planet Reach.[1]

Overview

Powerhouse was formerly utilized to provide alternative power supply to the rural settlers nearby, but has now been repurposed to support the military war efforts.[2] The map is primarily designed for 4v4 gametypes and appeared in the Grab Bag and Arena playlists during the Halo: Reach Multiplayer Beta.

Locations

  • Boiler
  • Cement Path
  • Cliffside
  • Dirt Path
  • Dormitory
  • Lockers
  • Office
  • Powerhouse 1st Floor
  • Powerhouse 2nd Floor
  • Ridge
  • Rock Garden
  • Shed
  • Spillway
  • Water Tank
  • Yard
  • Vaya Con Dios!

Trivia

  • The map was known as "Settlement" at some point in development.[2]
  • Like almost all Halo: Reach multiplayer maps (excluding Forge World), the map has been repurposed and used in campaign, although the level takes place at night instead of day in the level Nightfall.[3]
  • Powerhouse's art style and environmental layout is very similar to that of Halo 3's High Ground multiplayer level.
  • Near the red team spawn point, there is a spot on the wall that resembles the shape of a pig. This easter egg can be seen on the side of one of the staircases.
  • If you drop down the waterfall to one spot on the rocks where you can't be killed by barriers then the location next to your radar will say "Vaya con Dios!" which means "Go with God."
  • The map makes an appearance in the TV show Psych in the episode, "Not Even Close, Encounters." It can be seen at the end of the episode where Gus and Dennis are playing a split-screen multiplayer match in Dennis' office. This can also be seen as a goof as Gus tells Dennis to detonate the Pillar of Autumn, mistakenly referring to the last level of Halo: Combat Evolved.
