Forerunner turrets are a kind of defensive mechanism employed on Forerunner installations.
Types of turret[edit]
Fort variant[edit]
These turrets are generally found attached to Forerunner forts on the shield world Trove. They are mounted on large towers and operate as part of the forts' defensive measures.[1]
Anti-air turret[edit]
The anti-air turret is present on Installation 00. During the Battle of Installation 00, one such weapon was used to shoot down a Covenant freighter.[2][3]

Ark variant[edit]
Resembling the anti-air turret but on a smaller scale, these Forerunner turrets were were deployed around the wreckage of High Charity on Installation 00 in 2559 to defend the quarantine zone against attackers, and prevent the Flood from escaping. The turrets were also employed to defend the Sentinel launchers near the site, but were ultimately unsuccessful at keeping Banished forces away from High Charity.[4] The turrets fire a blue continuous beam, similar to the Sentinel beam utilised by Aggressor Sentinel Eliminators.[4]
