Confinement field

Confinement fields were energy fields projected by Forerunner warships to block the movement of enemy ships. Confinement fields were also able to be projected into the interiors of enemy vessels, as evidenced by the Forerunner fleet's incapacitation of the Didact and Bornstellar Makes Eternal Lasting during the Battle of Janjur Qom.[1] As such, they appear to be a large-scale application of constraint fields.
A similar technology was the confinement bubble which appeared to be a scaled-down version of the confinement field. Confinement bubbles were used for prisoner transport[2][3] and 343 Guilty Spark -- who had experienced one as Chakas -- believed that they could be used to shield a human sufficiently enough to survive otherwise unprotected travel through a slipspace portal, at least one generated by a personal slipspace unit.[4]
