UNSC Garage
From Halopedia, the Halo wiki
The Garage is an air-deployable structure used by the United Nations Space Command on their firebases. They are similar to the larger and less mobile Vehicle Depots used on more permanent "pod" firebases, used for on-site assembly and upgrade of vehicles.[1] They are similar to the Foundries and Factories of the Banished and Covenant, respectively.
Overview[edit]
UNSC doctrine states that, if a given deployment is unsuitable for the use of large aerospace lifters, vehicles may be partially-disassembled and "crated" for transport aboard a smaller dropship like a Pelican or Darter (neither of which rated for transatmospheric transport of vehicles). Once delivered to the firebase's Supply Pad, the constituent parts are taken to the Garage for local assembly.[1]
Unlike the similar Vehicle Depots, the Garage is itself an air-transportable building and can be ferried to a base site by a Pelican dropship.[2]

The Garage was introduced in Halo Wars 2 as the functional replacement for the Vehicle Depot from the first game. They require a Tech Level of 2 to construct, and cost
175.

Phoenix log[edit]

Vehicle factory. The Garage and its kit assembly line allows the requisition of Warthog, Scorpion, Wolverine, and Kodiak armored vehicles from the Spirit of Fire and unlocks their upgrade options. This should be one of the first infrastructure upgrades made to a new firebase, as the Garage constructs vehicles that will remain useful throughout the mission. Multiple Garages in a firebase reduces armored vehicle requisition time. Pelicans and Darters are not rated for transatmospheric transport of most UNSC combat vehicles, due to the potential for damage and loss of control during reentry. While travel to and from the surface of the Ark is dramatically simplified due to its artificial gravity, the Spirit of Fire is not currently configured to make effective use of this deployment method. Instead, UNSC doctrine states that when use of heavy lifters and surface staging areas is not available, combat vehicles can be partially disassembled, "crated" for transport, and then reassembled near the combat zone. |
