HUNTER-class Mjolnir is a prototype variant of the MJOLNIR Powered Assault Armor manufactured by the Office of Naval Intelligence's Watershed Division.

Overview[edit]

A standard, non-customised Hunter armor set.

Design details[edit]

Intended to be lethal and sophisticated, the HUNTER suit incorporates the Watershed Division's latest warfighting technology. While a prototype, the Hunter variant's sensor suite—implemented in the armor's helmet—enhances situational and threat awareness to the user.[2]

The Hunter variant's bodysuit bears a set of patterns of glowing lines on the upper arms, chest, and the back, the latter of which begin at the upper thighs and connect at the nape.[3]

Development history[edit]

Designed by the Office of Naval Intelligence's Watershed Division, the Hunter variant was made to impress even jaded ONI bureaucrats.[1]

Usage[edit]

A custom-made variant of the GEN2 Hunter armor was used by Spartan Jameson Locke in 2558.[4][5] By May 2560, during the Battle for Zeta Halo, the Banished Jiralhanae Hyperius was in possession of Locke's Hunter helmet and chest piece, which he had mounted to his shoulder pauldron as trophies.[6] This fact was used by Banished propaganda officer Glibnub to taunt the surviving UNSC forces on Installation 07, around the same time.[7] It is unclear how Hyperius came to possess these armour pieces, and Locke's fate is currently unknown.

In-game information[edit]

Halo 5: Guardians[edit]

Hunter was introduced in Halo 5: Guardians as an armor permutation unlockable via the Requisition system. Like Copperhead, Helljumper, and Technician, the armor acts as a pseudo-recreation of Jameson Locke's armor within Halo 5's campaign; only lacking the uniquely designed techsuit Locke's variant possesses. Hunter features no variants.

Halo Infinite[edit]

Hunter would later make a return in an updated form in Halo Infinite, added during the Fall Update's Haloween II Operation on October 28, 2025 in celebration of Halo 5: Guardians' 10th anniversary. It is available both through the Shop and The Exchange. The Hunter helmet and its associated armor parts are primarily available for the Mark VII armor core.[8]
