KOBOLD combat drone initiative
From Halopedia, the Halo wiki
KOBOLD combat drones,[1] also referred to as Project KOBOLD[2] and the KOBOLD combat drone initiative,[3] are a military research project conducted by the United Nations Space Command. Kobolds are bipedal combat robots that can be operated autonomously by an artificial intelligence or operated remotely via "telepresence",[1] presumably involving an operator using their neural interface to remote-pilot the drone.
Kobolds have much crossover with other UNSC military programs, in particular MJOLNIR Powered Assault Armor and its relatives. KOBOLD parts can be mounted on MJOLNIR GEN2 armour cores with the use of specialised jockey frames,[1] with select components used by SPARTAN-IVs for their regular combat operations. These include the Chiron gloves for the Mark VII core[2] and the TAS/PATTON attachment for the Artaius helmet - the latter of which used to collect data for the KOBOLD initiative.[3]
Trivia[edit]
Kobolds are sprites from Germanic mythology.
