The Talon-class flight helmet is a helmet variant utilized by UNSC Marine Corps pilots.[1][2] Newer models of the Talon helmet are fully compatible with the MJOLNIR Powered Assault Armor GEN3 platform.[1]

Design details[edit]

While originally designed for use by the pilots of the UNSC Marine Corps,[2] the latest models of the Talon flight helmet are designed to be fully compatible with MJOLNIR Powered Assault Armor neural interfaces and modern vehicle cyberlink standards.[1]

Development history[edit]

The Talon helmet is manufactured by Materials Group, a division of the Office of Naval Intelligence's Section three. Several models of the Talon flight helmet have existed, with only the latest models being upgraded to MJOLNIR's standards for use by Spartans.[1]

Usage[edit]

Talon flight helmets were utilized by Marine Corp AV-14 Hornet pilots as part of their battle dress uniform during the Battle of Installation 00 in December 2552,[2] and later during the Battle of Draetheus V in 2554.[3] Circa 2559, the newest models of the Talon helmet could be requisitioned by Spartans for use with their GEN3 MJOLNIR.[1]

Halo Infinite[edit]

The Talon helmet is available for multiplayer Spartan armor customization on the Mark VII armor core in Halo Infinite. It makes a complete set alongside the UA/FLSF TYPE C shoulder pads and UTIL/FLISP Mark 98 chestplate to recreate the pilots seen in the Halo 3 level The Covenant.

Production notes[edit]

  • Although first seen in Halo 3, the Talon helmet did not receive an official name until Halo Infinite's Season 04: Infection when it was released on the Mark VII armor core.
    • In addition to the Talon helmet, the UA/FLSF TYPE C shoulder pads and the UTIL/FLISP Mark 98 chest attachment, each based off of the armor of the Halo 3 Marine pilots, were added as customization options on the Mark VII core.
