Assertions such as "this is unambiguously stated" are not fit for this website. I do not care what you consider to be unambiguous, nor am I interested in getting into debates on the matter (largely because I actually agree with you, personally and I don't understand how people come away thinking the opposite) - but many people apparently consider it ambiguous enough for there to be a debate in the first place. For an encyclopedic style we would simply note what Spark says, what has been confirmed to be the intent behind the line from the developers (with citations), and the ways it has since been interpreted in fiction going forward.
I genuinely have no interest or particular stance on the retcon. My only interest is that I do not want that page (or any on the site) from starting to sound like a Twitter rant thread. The main article text body covers everything you're trying to add in a much more fleshed-out and nuanced manner.
I would direct you to the Talk Page if you want to discuss further edits, as I'd be happy to direct it to some of the editors who did the painstaking writeup in the first place, as they'll have more to say on the subject than me.
