Data gleaned from millennia-old war constructs has been carefully integrated into select components for ANVIL testing.[2]

LANCER-class Mjolnir is an experimental variant of MJOLNIR Powered Assault Armor, which was approved for testing on ANVIL Station.[2]

Prototype overview[edit]

Development history[edit]

LANCER was developed from data recovered from Forerunner war constructs; those data were carefully integrated in a few MJOLNIR [GEN2] components for testing in ANVIL Station.[2] The suit itself was created in the skunkworks departments of ANVIL Station.[3]

Mark IV overview[edit]

Development history[edit]

The Lancer helmet and associated Advanced armor components are compatible with the upgraded Mark IV MJOLNIR platform. By 2560, the Lancer armor is just one of the results of ANVIL Station's continuing research efforts. The Advanced Bevor, a custom up-armor faceplate for the Lancer helmet, and inspired on historical plate armor used in medieval times, makes uses of advanced alloys and ceramics to shield the delicate VISR element from battlefield threats.[1][4]

In-game information[edit]

Halo 3 MCC[edit]

The Lancer armor set was first introduced into Halo 3's MCC port along with six other new armor sets, as part of Series 6: Raven. It was never available in Halo 3 for Xbox 360.[5]

Production notes[edit]

"Though capable of efficiently utilizing the new modular tactical package system, Lethbridge has also modified several SCEPTRE suits to use the alternative plug-in upgrade system championed by Materials Group. The SCEPTRE belongs to a new family of Mjolnir-based armor systems."
— LANCER's (then-known as SCEPTRE) original armor description in Halo Online.

The LANCER armor set was originally created as a useable armor permutation for Halo Online, a cancelled Halo 3-derived multiplayer game developed by Saber Interactive and Innova Systems which was intended to be released exclusively in Russia for the PC. After the game's cancellation in 2016, the armor was one of six sets added to Halo 3 in The Master Chief Collection as part of the game's sixth season in 2021.[citation needed]

During the development of Halo Online, the LANCER set was concepted and developed under the name of "SCEPTRE". During the Halo Online Betas, the suit had a notable different backstory to the final revision seen in Halo: The Master Chief Collection.
