- "I'm wearing three layers of armor. Those man-droppers in your clip would just flatten themselves against my chest."
- — LTJG Frederic-104 to Veta Lopis, referring to the ammunition of the latter's SAS-10 pistol[3]
CENTURION-class Mjolnir is a variant of the MJOLNIR Powered Assault Armor manufactured by the Office of Naval Intelligence's Watershed Division.[1]
GEN1 overview[edit]
Design details[edit]
The Mark VI Centurion set was an experimental platform designed to combine the Mark VI armor's architecture with GEN2-era upgrades.[4]
Development history[edit]
The Centurion armor was manufactured by ONI's Watershed Division. In October 2552 a Mark VI version of the armor was available.[5]
One of the testers was Frederic-104, with his suit having a primary purpose to serve as a testbed for new technologies before they were incorporated into the MJOLNIR (GEN2) platform, a more modern armor that would later be utilized by Spartan-IVs.[6]
Usage[edit]
Spartan Frederic-104 received a prototype Centurion armor upon upgrading to the Mark VI platform at his return to Earth in October 2552, shortly before the Battle for Earth.[5] With it, Frederic fought numerous battles on Earth, and later participated in the Onyx Conflict. Following his return to Earth in 2553, he continued to field-test multiple variants of the Centurion armor during highly confidential operations,[6] until at least October 2558.[1]
GEN2 overview[edit]
Design details[edit]
The GEN2 variant is equipped with C4I2SR (Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Information, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance)[7] technology which, combined with the warfighting skills of the Spartan wearer, has had major ramifications on UNSC doctrine on battlespace shaping and operations planning.[8] The suit's threat management system also features the latest situational awareness tactical software and cognition-enhancing neural interlinks.[1][2]
This variant would also possess a distinct "104" stenciled on the chest plate in Braille; an identifying trait that was present across Blue Team's [GEN2] armor.
Development history[edit]
The GEN2 variant was developed by the Watershed Division.
Usage[edit]
By 2558, a GEN2 variant of Centurion was in use by Spartan Fred-104.
In-game information[edit]
Halo 2: Anniversary[edit]
The Centurion armor is an armor permutation for Spartans in Halo 2: Anniversary multiplayer, being one of three default options the player starts out with alongside Mark VI and Hoplite. With the release of Series 3: Recon, this variant of Centurion would feature broader customization, with the helmet, chest, shoulders, forearms, and legs all becoming unique options.
