Overview

The helmet has a Ankara EV-A760 wide-range visor set, closed-breach sensor components open at operators request, and a Twin-case Class-8 support module (KR-03-A) used to improve suitability in space.[2] The helmet also contains heavy duty connectors and data ports for external attachments, though GEN2 specifications did not require it.[3]

Development history

Prior to the war with the Covenant, "jaunt-combat excursions" were seen as not relevant and not practically viable, this changed after the War started, leading the UNSC conning up the "Strider" term which means operators do highly varied missions over a short period of time.[4][2]

The Strider-class armor system was designed explicitly for Strider activities in which the suit has more endurance than most Mjolnir systems, handily resolving multi-task aggregation, coordinating missions on the fly, and effectually giving the operating Spartans the solvency needed to execute accordingly.[2]

The armor is equipped with larger sensor range. Its first version was used during the defense of Concord in 2551, along with other test models, that all lacked their full combat suite. After development was complete, and "Strider" was sent to pass its last tests at Anvil Station in 2555.[5]

After it was released the suit had become the unofficial base for heavily customized "frankensuits" due to its relative simplicity and extensively documented subassemblies.[3]

Usage

Spartans utilizing this set often use Jet packs to increase mobility during excursions.[2]
