TAC, short for Tactical, is a category of accessories for use in conjunction with MJOLNIR Powered Assault Armor as well as other UNSC infantry armor systems.

Design details

The TAC category encompasses various attachments, which are compatible with the helmet, chest, wrist, and thigh components of the MJOLNIR Mark V and MJOLNIR [GEN3] armors.[1][2]

AN/PZY-990T STARLIGHT

The AN/PZY-990T STARLIGHT optical sensors integrates directly with Mjolnir VISR drivers and intelligence analysis systems to provide real-time situation updates to commanders.[3][Note 1] It resembles a camera, and is typically worn on the right side of the helmet.

PZY-955SSA WILLOW

Manufactured by Chalybs Defense Solutions and compatible with the CH252 helmet, the PZY-955SSA WILLOW remote sensor is dependable and natively compatible with older UNSC and CMA encoding formats.[4][Note 2] It is typically worn on the right side of the helmet. It can be employed alongside a Command Network Module or a CBRN module.[5][6]

Although it was previously available only to Beta-5 security teams and select Army rapid-reaction forces,[7] it was also employed by Orbital Drop Shock Troopers during Fall of Reach.[8] By 2558, its use was adopted by Spartan-IV personnel employing the Military Police helmet, which also employs an integrated Command Network Module.[7]

MOTHWORM

Manufactured by ONI's Watershed Division. the Mothworm is an specialized hardware and software used to evaluate UNSC and Covenant encampments, troop and vehicle dispositions, and local topography to generate strategic planning factors for immediate sharing on the battle network. The Mothworm is compatible with the ISIDOR-class Mjolnir.[9]

The SRV-III shoulder consists of a large armoured shoulder plate for the left shoulder (and strapped to the regular GEN2 Mark VI shoulder plate), and an armorless shoulder plate for the right one, strapped with supply bags.[10]

Paradise Rig

Manufactured by Emerson Tactical Systems, the Paradise Rig is composed of a gorget up-armor plate, a backup electronics pack, and small field cases. These items are marketed by Emerson to various markets, including the Spartans.[12]
