Although the Mantle of Responsibility was a wide-ranging belief interpreted in many forms by the Forerunner, and began as a more esoteric concept involving neural physics at the hands of the Precursors it did have some precepts that were put to writing. Those few have been collected here.

Spartan-II operatives developed their own unique battle language comprised of silent hand-signals and LED HUD sequences, which later came to be utilized by Spartan-IIIs and presumably some Spartan-IVs.

Abbey Lime was utilised by Spartan Kovan during Operation: VERTICAL UMBRAGE during the Requiem Campaign of 2558, used by Kovan to board the Zanar-pattern light cruiser Panom's Canticle. Kovan continued to use Abbey Lime into the Battle for Zeta Halo, eventually coming to lose the weapon during the attack on UNSC Mortal Reverie. While Kovan did eventually find an SRS99-S5 to replace her customized SRS99-S7, she noted that the replacement didn't compare favorably.
Blaze of Glory	Blue Team	An experimental M45D Tactical Shotgun modified with Forerunner mechanism to fire fast-moving hardlight projectiles. During the raid on Argent Moon in October 2558, Blue Team discovered a copy of the weapon in an area before the catwalk to Argent Moon's Central Control.
Etilka	Jorge-052	M247H HMG modified by Jorge-052 to replace the gun shield with a heat shroud around the barrel, alongside more ergonomic handle placement. Jorge-052 served with the weapon during the Battle of Fumirole and later, the Fall of Reach. During the opening stages of the fall, he employed the weapon during a mission to investigate the Visegrád Relay and later the defense of SWORD Base. Jorge would then employ the weapon during the Battle at Szurdok Ridge. The weapon's last actions would come in Operation: UPPER CUT, with Jorge using the weapon inside the captured Ceudar-pattern heavy corvette Ardent Prayer to hold off Covenant forces. Following damage taken to the slipspace drive needed for the operation, Jorge would stay behind on the Corvette to manually detonate the engine-turned-bomb and allow B312 to escape. In the ensuing destruction of the Sh'wada-pattern supercarrier Long Night of Solace, Etilka was likely destroyed.
Keyes' M6D	Jacob Keyes John-117	Captain Keyes personal sidearm aboard the UNSC Pillar of Autumn, issued to John-117 when he was tasked with getting Cortana off the ship and keeping her out of Covenant hands.
Nornfang (SRS99-S5)	Linda-058	Nornfang was an SRS99 manufactured by Misriah Armory for their internal competitive sharpshooting team. The weapon went missing at some point, eventually coming into the possession of Spartan Linda-058, who further hand-tuned and custom-crafted the rifle to fire 14.5×114mm Armor-Piercing High-Explosive (APHE) rounds and to ensure her HUD's motion tracker was still visible even while using its optics. Nornfang was recovered from Blue Team's Prowler on Meridian by Fireteam Osiris.
Nornfang (SRS99-S7)	Linda-058	Latest in a long line of carefully customized sniper rifles used by the legendary Spartan sniper, Linda-058. Replaced Linda's [[SRS99-S5 AM sniper rifle]\|SRS99-S5]] Nornfang sometime after 2559.
Oathsworn (M45D)	Kelly-087	Customized M45D shotgun used by Kelly-087 between October 2558 and October 2559 with a Rabbit emblazoned on the weapon as a nod to Kelly's nickname assigned during the SPARTAN-II training due to her speed. The upper receiver is marked with the words "REMEMBER REACH". Kelly used the M45D-based Oathsworn in the mission to board Argent Moon, and subsequently carried it throughout Blue Team's missions to Meridian and Genesis. Kelly kept this weapon (or one externally identical) in service throughout the ensuing Created uprising, using Oathsworn during her return to Reach in October 2559.
Petra Janecek's revolver	Petra Janecek	Personalized revolver intricately engraved, with a wood grip. During an expedition to Karava in March 2558, Janecek used it to kill the Sangheili 'Lordan when he threatened her comrade, Spartan Naiya Ray. Later that year, she threatened to shoot Benjamin Giraud with her revolver after he uploaded a personal conversation between the two of them online that could possibly incriminate her.
Selene's Lance	Nina Kovan	Built from components made in Seongnam, Selene's Lance is a named variant of the W/AV M6/E G/GNR, with various upgrades such as a faster charging cycle, longer beam duration, larger battery capacity, and an upgraded targeting laser capable of damaging targets. In Operation: VERTICAL UMBRAGE in February 2558, Selene's Lance was used by Nina Kovan to destroy the pinch fusion reactor core of the Zanar-pattern light cruiser, Panom's Canticle.
Señora Sies	Ignatio Delgado Major Faison	M6-series handgun modified by Ignatio Delgado's uncle over the course of three weeks, replacing the original furniture with oak wood carved into "a piece of art". As ODST Major Faison lay dying aboard the Kig-Yar raider Infinite Spoils, Delgado exchanged Señora Sies for the major's battle rifle. The handgun was presumably lost after Faison was killed by the Sangheili Zealot Zhar, and Thel 'Vadamee kicked away the weapon.
Whispered Truth	Edward Buck	Modified M6H that fires in three-round bursts, with a magazine size of 18 rounds. Utilized by Edward Buck during his missions with Fireteam Osiris.
Wolf Fang	Hieu Dinh	Pattern-2 composite sword originally manufactured by Misriah Armory, sharpened on Covenant armor and wetted with Banished blood. Spartan Hieu Dinh employed Wolf Fang when he was deployed to the shipbreaking yard on Camber during the Created conflict.
Zeretus' M41 Tracker	Zeretus John-117	Improved version of the standard M41D SPNKr used by Zeretus during the campaign on Installation 07 in 2559-2560. During the campaign, he used the weapon in a combat encounter with John-117, though was defeated by the Spartan.

Built from a large stone discovered in a cache of rare and extremely resilient metals discovered in ancient ruins during early Jiralhanae history, when the species first explored barely accessible areas of Doisac. For the following decades, the Fist of Rukt was used by clans of nomadic Jiralhanae, until the weapon eventually fell into the hands of Chieftain Rukt. Rukt used the weapon throughout the Great Immolation. The Fist of Rukt became a ceremonial hammer passed down from Chieftain to Chieftain in the ruling clan of the Jiralhanae. It is regarded as a holy object to the Jiralhanae, and was expected to be treated with great care by its handler. Throughout the hammer's long history, the haft of the Fist of Rukt had been broken and reforged numerous times. From the Jiralhanae's induction into the Covenant until the First Battle of Harvest, Chieftain Maccabeus held control of the weapon after he had killed his own father in a duel. During the Battle of Harvest, Maccabeus' nephew, Tartarus, began to doubt his uncle's competence. This led to a duel in which Tartarus killed Maccabeus and claimed control of his clan and the Fist of Rukt. Tartarus later used the hammer towards the end of the battle to engage Harvest militia forces aboard the Tiara. At the Control Room of Installation 05, the Arbiter, Johnson, numerous Sangheili Councilors, Zealots, Ultras, and Special Operations Sangheili killed Tartarus. While it is unknown what became of the Fist of Rukt, it is possible that the Sangheili confiscated it. An Unggoy encountered by John-117 while escaping Installation 08 claimed to be in possession of the weapon.
Krith's Left Hand	Krith Ripa 'Moramee	The personal weapon of Pirate King Krith, used to assassinate a San’Shyuum Precentor before being claimed by Ripa 'Moramee after he slew Krith on Malurok.
Kit Pitlimp's Light of Urs	Kit Pitlimp Fireteam Osiris	In October 2558, Fireteam Osiris and 031 Exuberant Witness found a copy of the weapon next to Kit Pitlimp's corpse and a Covenant data pad housing the last portion of his four-part adventure log in an area on Genesis during their mission to reunite with the SPARTAN-IIs of Blue Team at the Gateway.
Pool of Radiance	Blue Team	Variant of the standard Gespu-pattern Flak Launcher, which fires unstable fuel rods that leave behind dangerous residue in their impact area and have proximity airburst fuses. In October 2558, the Spartan-IIs of Blue Team found a copy of the weapon sitting on top of a rocky ledge in an area on Genesis that they passed through on their way to Cortana.
Prophet's Bane Previously: End of Night	Thel 'Vadam	Ancient sword of the House of Vadam dating back before the ratification of the Writ of Union and the establishment of the Covenant, later modified by Thel 'Vadam. Formerly known as the "End of Night", the sword came to be recognized by its original user as more than a warrior's tool, but a weapon that possessed the warrior's heart. The blade was highly treasured and stored away to serve as a reservoir of glory and honor that can be redeemed in times of great need. Following the aftermath of the Human-Covenant War, Arbiter Thel 'Vadam recovered the sword from the House of Vadam's vaults and reforged the blade in a way that apparently preserved its honor and history, but changed its destiny. Upgraded in the traditional Sangheili manner in his clan's own forge, 'Vadam insisted for the blade to incorporate components of the energy sword that he used to assassinate the High Prophet of Truth during the Battle of Installation 00 in 2552. Like other Sangheili relic weapons, the Prophets' Bane was not named by its wielder, but rather by other Sangheili as 'Vadam's blade became a known instrument of change and self-determination across the Sangheili colonies. Following the sword's upgrade, the Arbiter wielded the Prophets' Bane to slay his foes in the conflicts that followed the Covenant War, including the Blooding Years that engulfed much of Sanghelios. Immediately following the Battle of Nuusra in 2558, 'Vadam used his blade to execute and decapitate elder Murok 'Vadam after discovering he had betrayed the Swords of Sanghelios to the remnants of Jul 'Mdama's Covenant. Thel 'Vadam's use of the weapon continued into the Created uprising, seeing notable use during his mission to Netherop in late 2559.
Spitfire	Fireteam Osiris	T-54D DEP modified by Kig-Yar armorers to have a faster charging cycle, increased damage and range, and less heat generation per shot. In October 2558, a copy of the weapon was left in an area on Genesis that Fireteam Osiris and 031 Exuberant Witness passed through under the heat of hostile Promethean and Covenant forces on their way to reunite with Blue Team at the Gateway.
Talon of the Lost	Blue Team	Named variant of the T-56D GML, upgraded by Sangheili miners and engineers working to discover more new properties of the Subanese crystals to fire carefully calibrated red blamite shards that can embed themselves in heavy armor. In October 2558, Spartan-II Blue Team encountered a copy of the weapon in a Covenant-occupied area of Genesis that they passed through on their way to reunite with Cortana.
Tartarus' Gavel		One of many weapons forged by Tartarus during his ascent to power within the Covenant. Tartarus used his relationship with the Prophets to reward loyal lieutenants with advanced weaponry secretly forged within the Sacred Promissory; one such hammer was the Tartarus' Gavel. Tartarus' Gavel was upgraded to emit a linear series of kinetic explosions with each swing.
Thel 'Vadam's Energy Sword	Thel 'Vadam	Personal energy sword of Thel 'Vadam, used between November and December 2552 during the final battles of the Human-Covenant War. Notably used to slay the Prophet of Truth during the Battle of the Citadel.
Toka Sumai's Duelist Energy Sword	Toha 'Sumai Okro 'Vagaduun John-117	Variant of the Meluth'qelos-pattern fireblade with a lightweight frame, allowing users to be more agile. The sword was carried and used by Toha 'Sumai, a renowned Sangheili blademaster. The weapon was taken from 'Sumai some time prior to March 2555, when his former-student Okro 'Vagaduun assassinated the blademaster. The weapon was used by 'Sumai to defend himself from 'Vagaduun in a martial duel done as part of 'Vagaduun's initiation into the Banished, with one of Atriox's core teachings being to reject honour and all previous loyalties. Following 'Sumai's death, 'Vagaduun retrieved the Duelist Energy Sword from his former master's body and proceeded to carry it throughout his career in the Banished. During the Zeta Halo campaign in 2559-2560, 'Vagaduun used the weapon in a combat encounter with John-117, though he was defeated and ultimately killed by the Spartan.
Vrak'is' Pinpoint Needler	Vrak'is Writh Kul John-117	The Pinpoint Needler was a modified variant of the standard Posu'gelka-pattern needler, with an expanded magazine of 30 shards and an advanced target acquisition ability. The shards fired from the Pinpoint Needler also had a lower "supercombine" requirement. It was kept as personal heirloom of the Kig-Yar Vrak'is, a former pirate queen. In 2558, Writh Kul, a Skirmisher in the Banished, played a game of liar's dice against Vrak'is with the weapon as the wager. Although Writh Kul lost the game, Vrak'is, acknowledging her own waning need for the weapon, generously gifted the prized Pinpoint Needler to Writh Kul for her to wield within the Banished. During the campaign on Installation 07 in 2559-2560, Writh Kul used the weapon in a combat encounter with John-117, though was ultimately defeated by the Spartan.
White Scar	Fireteam Osiris	A special variant of the Tufasumo-pattern plasma caster, custom-built for use by the local clans of Sanghelios. In October 2558, Fireteam Osiris found a copy of the weapon behind burning wreckage in an area on Genesis that they passed through on their mission to rescue Blue Team from Cortana's Cryptum.

Open Hand	Endurance-of-Will Fireteam Osiris	Noted for being the right hand of Endurance-of-Will, a Promethean Knight who served as the Ur-Didact's loyal lieutenant. Carried by Endurance-of-Will alongside the Closed Fist on her left hand, in the final years prior to the firing of the Halo Array. In October 2558, Fireteam Osiris encountered a copy of the Open Hand on a snow-capped ledge in an area on Kamchatka that they passed through on their quest to retrieve Catherine Halsey from Jul 'Mdama.
River of Light	Unknown Promethean Blue Team	One of the first Incineration Cannons ever made. Its core was built and refined over decades by an unknown Promethean who effectively used the weapon and served in dozens of containment operations against the Flood. After the Domain was unraveled, the weapon was originally thought to be lost. However, it was later found in a Promethean cache in a factory that once spun impossible miracles of exotic matter. The forges of this factory were cold and abandoned for a hundred thousand years before the Warden Eternal returned with writs of control, dominance, and resurgence. In October 2558, a copy of the weapon was located in an area on Genesis that Blue Team passed.
Salient-Lance's Scatterbound Heatwave	Salient-Lance Ordo 'Mal John-117	Variant of the standard Heatwave modified to fire repurposed Z-180 Scattershot rounds, which seek out targets after a ricochet. In the Forerunner era, the Scatterbound Heatwave was notably employed by a Warrior-Servant warrior, Salient-Lance. Millennia later, the weapon was used by Wraithmaster Ordo 'Mal, a Sangheili in the Banished during the campaign on Installation 07 in 2559-2560. During the campaign, he used the weapon in a combat encounter with John-117, though was defeated by the Spartan.
Thav 'Sebarim's Arcane Sentinel Beam	Thav 'Sebarim John-117	Discovered by Kaidon Thav 'Sebarim, a Sangheili commanding officer in the Banished during the campaign on Installation 07 in 2559-2560. Differs from standard models fielded by Aggressor Sentinels in a handful of factors. Its beam is more powerful than that of the standard model and has a faster cooldown, though has less ammunition capacity. During the campaign, 'Sebarim used the weapon in a combat encounter with John-117, though was defeated by the Spartan.
Twin Jewels of Maethrillian	Blue Team Fireteam Osiris	Two modified Binary Rifles named after Maethrillian, the capital of the Forerunner ecumene. In October 2558, during the Battle of Genesis, the Twin Jewels of Maethrillian were found on Genesis. The first one was found in the canyons through which Spartan-II Blue Team passed to reach the Gateway. The second copy was later found in the snow-capped regions of Genesis, particularly near a gravitational core that Fireteam Osiris, with the help of 031 Exuberant Witness, destroyed in their mission to free Blue Team from Cortana's Cryptum.
Ur-Didact's Backdraft Cindershot	Ur-Didact Myriad John-117	Requisitioned by Bitterness-of-the-Vanquished from the Ferrarius Assembler Vats for Ur-Didact's personal use. Later entered the possession of Myriad, a pair of Mgalekgolo in the Banished during the campaign on Installation 07 in 2559-2560. During the campaign, they protected the weapon until their deaths at the hands of John-117.

Balkarus' Riven Mangler	Balkarus John-117	Used by Balkarus, a Jiralhanae Captain in the Banished during the campaign on Installation 07 in 2559-2560, the modified Mangler fires three split-shard spike projectiles when the trigger is pulled. During the campaign, he used the weapon in a combat encounter with John-117, though was defeated by the Spartan.
Barroth's Stalker Rifle Ultra	Barroth John-117	Used by Arch Khordat Barroth, a Kig-Yar sniper in the Banished during the campaign on Installation 07 in 2559-2560. Has a higher rate-of-fire and a lower buildup of heat within the weapon, though at the cost of lower damage dealt by the plasma bolt. During the campaign, Barroth used the weapon in a combat encounter with John-117, though was defeated by the Spartan.
Bipbap's Calcine Disruptor	Bipbap John-117	Used by Bipbap, the Vanquisher, an Unggoy soldier in the Banished during the campaign on Installation 07 in 2559-2560. Fires delayed detonation rounds that deal more damage and lead to an area-of-effect shortly after impact. During the campaign, Bipbap used the weapon in a combat encounter with John-117, though was defeated by the Spartan.
Briglard's Unbound Plasma Pistol	Briglard John-117	Used by Briglard, an Unggoy High Sumpter in the Banished during the campaign on Installation 07 in 2559-2560. Fires stronger bolts with a higher rate of fire. Furthermore, its scaled burst fires six bolts instead of a single overcharge bolt; the bolts detonate in a "supercombine" explosion if they hit the same target. One such weapon was u During the campaign, he used the weapon in a combat encounter with John-117, though was defeated by the Spartan.
Chainbreaker	Atriox	Chainbreaker was forged by Atriox following his rebellion during the Algolis Invasion. The mace additionally sports three red energy blades protruding at 120^o angles - when viewed from above. These blades are positioned as such to evoke the imagery of Doisac and its three moons - Soirapt, Warial, and Teash. This imagery also serves as the basis of the Mark of Atriox - the emblem of the Banished - and as a symbolic scepter of Atriox himself. The blades are aided in their combat effectiveness by gravity field manipulation cores, which allow the weapon to cause gravitic disruptions when it hits targets - or be used to forcibly pull objects and individuals toward the weapon.
Diminisher of Hope	Escharum John-117	Personalized gravity hammer with gravitic impellors in its central core that create gravitic blasts when striking a surface, and combines this effect with twin asymmetrical plasma blades. Escharum carried the Diminisher of Hope during Operation: WOLFE as well as the Battle for Zeta Halo. During his duel with John-117 at the House of Reckoning, Escharum initially used a scrap cannon. After the Spartan permanently disabled his shield, Escharum discarded the scrap cannon in favor of the Diminisher of Hope, before being defeated by the Spartan.
En'Geddon's Rushdown Hammer	En'Geddon John-117	Used by En'Geddon, a Jiralhanae Chieftain in the Banished, during the Battle for Zeta Halo. Upgraded variant of the Halbashi Workshop gravity hammer containing an upgraded gravitic core that increases its effective range, and made of composite materials that allow user to be more mobile. En'Geddon used his Rushdown Hammer to fight other Banished soldiers in fighting arenas as punishment for those he deemed to have ambitions above their station. He noted that none were a match for the enhancements made to the hammer's gravitic core. He used the weapon in a combat encounter with John-117, though was defeated by the Spartan.
Ik'novus' Volatile Skewer	Avitus Ik'novus John-117	A farewell gift from Chieftain Avitus to Ik'novus before the latter was assigned to the Bloodstars in the Banished, modified to fire an explosive harpoon that detonates upon impact. Ik'novus was in possession of the weapon during the campaign on Installation 07 in 2559-2560, up until his death at the hands of John-117.
Inka 'Saham's Rapidfire Pulse Carbine	Inka 'Saham John-117	Used by General Inka 'Saham, a Sangheili commanding officer in the Banished during the campaign on Installation 07 in 2559-2560. Variant of the pulse carbine with an increased rate-of-fire. During the campaign, he used the weapon in a combat encounter with John-117, though was defeated by the Spartan.

Shock rifle variant, modified to carry an expanded magazine of 15 bolts, with a burst-fire function that fires five bolts, instead of three, in quick succession. The bolts also have an improved voltaic chaining capabilities. During the campaign, the Skimmer Alpha used the weapon in a combat encounter with John-117, though was defeated by the Spartan.
