- "I am Kit Pitlimp the explorer. The Covenant's future depends on ancient Forerunner secrets. That's what Jul 'Mdama said, so I will look for them."
- — Kit Pitlimp on Sanghelios[2]
Kit Pitlimp was an inquisitive Unggoy explorer serving Jul 'Mdama's reformed Covenant who desired to uncover Forerunner secrets.[2]
Biography[edit]
- "I knew it! Kit Pitlimp has always been bound for destiny! I speak as one who has undergone the Great Journey! Now, I will talk to the gods! I will be a god! I will—what is that creature? If you are a god, I… worship you! Otherwise… worship me! Wait, no! No!"
- — Kit Pitlimp's last words, after arriving at Genesis[1]
The inquisitive Kit Pitlimp served Jul 'Mdama's reformed Covenant, desiring to locate Forerunner secrets to aid the Covenant in combating Arbiter Thel 'Vadam's Swords of Sanghelios. On October 27, 2558, with the death of 'Mdama, the Covenant moved their remaining forces to the city of Sunaion on Sanghelios and launched a desperate attack on the Nuusra territory in an effort to eliminate 'Vadam and the Swords of Sanghelios forces in the region. Knowing that Sanghelios was home to many Forerunner structures, Pitlimp resolved to searching for Forerunner secrets on the planet in the night when he hoped that Swords of Sanghelios forces would not notice him.[2] However, the Covenant did not allow him to enter the "old place" at Nuusra, which was the location of Forerunner relics. Regardless, Pitlimp snuck inside and found the sigil of the Guardian, which he had first saw while stationed at Sunaion.[3]
The Covenant was eventually pushed back to Sunaion, where they made a desperate last stand against the Swords of Sanghelios. Meanwhile, Pitlimp concluded that the Guardian was the Covenant's vessel to the Great Journey and made plans to board the construct, failing to realize the Guardian's true purpose.[4] Eventually, during the battle, the Guardian at Sunaion was activated and it left Sanghelios for the Forerunner world of Genesis with Pitlimp aboard. On October 28, 2558, Pitlimp had arrived at Genesis, where he believed that his theory proved correct and he had undergone the Great Journey. The Unggoy assumed that he would now be granted the opportunity to speak to his gods and even become one himself. However, he soon encountered an unidentified "creature"—perhaps a Promethean construct or the Warden Eternal. While pondering whether he should worship the creature or if it should worship him, Pitlimp was attacked and killed by it.[1] Fireteam Osiris subsequently discovered Pitlimp's corpse and personal journal, along with the Light of Urs variant of the Gespu-pattern fuel rod gun.[1]
