Jonesy

Jonesy (sometimes Jonesey) is a collection of Easter eggs throughout the Halo series referring to a supposed missing calico cat. The Easter egg references the cat of the same name in the 1979 film Alien. In Alien, Jonesy is the name of the ship's cat aboard the Nostromo.
Halo: Combat Evolved, Anniversary, and Campaign Evolved[edit]

In Halo: Combat Evolved Jonesy is referenced on a bulletin board on the level The Pillar of Autumn. The bulletin board displays a poster reading "Missing: Calico cat - answers to: Jonesy". This reference is also included in the updated revision of the level in the 2026 remake Halo: Campaign Evolved.
In the 2011 remaster Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary the bulletin board was altered to have a poster claiming to have found a missing cat, though with an attached image of an opossum, referencing an internet meme.
Halo 3[edit]
Jonesy references are also present in Halo 3, taking the form of posters littered throughout various maps with a picture of the cat and the text "Still missing my cat Jonesy", calling back to the original Combat Evolved Easter egg. They can be found among the following locations:
- On Crow's Nest
- On Foundry - in the trash on the left side of the map.
