Moa statues are a collectible available in the campaign of Halo 4. The statues were added to Halo 4's campaign in the Series 9 December update for Halo: The Master Chief Collection, and are not present in the original Xbox 360 edition of the game.^[1]

Overview[edit]

Several moa statues can be found in each level on any difficulty and take the form of a small golden Moa. Upon being discovered, the statues can be destroyed, with the weekly challenge Eye Spy requiring the destruction of three such Moa for completion. Three levels are chosen to spawn Moa within each week (observable on the challenge itself), with each level getting three statues chosen, meaning they are not all consistently placed all the time.^[2] As such, this page lists all potential statue locations. Statues marked as (Broken) spawn every week and don't count towards the challenge, even when the challenge selects the level the statues are placed on. Statues marked as (Unobtainable) denote statues placed in cutscene rooms that aren't accessible.

Statue locations[edit]

Dawn[edit]

Dawn has Six Moa Statues, which can be found in the following locations:

(Moa 1) In the room where the first real fighting occurs, and where the covenant rams two boarding craft through the side windows, a Moa can be found in the back right corner, behind a large crate.
(Moa 2) After fighting one Elite and a couple of Grunts in a small control room, continue right, down the stairs. The Moa is under the stairwell, in the back corner.
(Moa 3) Shortly before the outside (low gravity) section, you have a big fight in an area with a big room in the middle and two paths on the sides. The Moa is on the right path, up high on a box.
(Moa 4) When you enter the outside (low gravity) section, turn right and walk a bit, the Moa is up high on the wall.
(Moa 5) At the end of the level while attempting to flee the disintegrating ship, in the room where the floor collapses, the Moa is in an alcove on the right.
(Moa 6) At the end of the level while attempting to flee the disintegrating ship, in the room where several things are on fire, the Moa can be found in a corner to your right.

Requiem[edit]

Requiem has Six Moa Statues, which can be found in the following locations:

(Moa 1) Found just after the crash site. When the path opens up to reveal a chasm with the world in the background, and the path continues to the left, turn right instead to find a moa in a nook on a wall.
(Moa 2) After you acquire a Warthog from some wreckage of the Forward Unto Dawn, drive up to the next area with some wreckage. Go through the tunnel, you can find the Moa on the right hand side shortly after, on a sand mound.
(Moa 3) Found outside the first Forerunner structure, in the grassy area on it's left, on a rock in the back.
(Moa 4) Found inside the first Forerunner structure. Go to the back left of the room and up a sand mound. The statue is on a box behind a tree.
(Moa 5) Found after you arrive at the top of an elevator leading to a long bridge. On the bridge you can explore a lower level several times. The Moa is found on the second lower level you encounter.
(Moa 6) After killing the Hunters and going back inside Forerunner structures, at the end of the long hallway. The Moa is below the round elevator, right next to the Terminal.

Forerunner[edit]

Forerunner has Six Moa Statues, which can be found in the following locations:

(Moa 1) Found on the flat platform with a grand view that you visit multiple times, jumping into different portals. The Moa is hidden inside of the central platform.
(Moa 2) Found right after seeing Crawlers for the first time. Jump on the rocks to the left of the path, look left and slightly down across the ravine.
(Moa 3) Found in the area where you fight the first Promethean Knight. High up on the rocks on the left.
(Moa 4) Found in the first Pylon area. In one of the Power Core rooms, right next to a Weapons Crate.
(Moa 5) Found right after you first find a couple of Ghosts. Rather than taking a Ghost or continuing to the next fight, walk along the path high up on the right.
(Moa 6) Found in the second Pylon area. Go to the Power Core Room immediately to your left as you enter the area, climb on top of it, the Moa can be seen high up on a tower right next to it.

Infinity[edit]

Infinity has Seven Moa Statues, which can be found in the following locations:

(Moa 1) Where you pick up the marine key card, instead of continuing the path to the left, check the dead end to the right. On the right side, low to the ground, in a small pool.
(Moa 2) Just after you pickup the marine key card, check the tree vine to your left where you encounter the Promethean Crawlers.
(Moa 3) During the holdout in the last area of the jungle, there's a Moa on the back wall, on top of a rock.
(Moa 4) While making your way to Infinity (usually in a Scorpion Tank), after destroying a few Ghosts and floating platforms, ... You come to a more open area with another three platforms and a Wraith. The Moa is located in the debris on the right.
(Moa 5) When piloting the Mantis, after you break through the door and kill some enemies, rather than following the path to the right, continue straight ahead. The Moa is high up on the wall.
(Moa 6) When piloting the Mantis, in the last, narrow, hallway before reaching the elevator, you pass the Moa on your right, near a console.
(Moa 7) When piloting the Mantis, during the final fight outside, ...

Reclaimer[edit]

Reclaimer has Six Moa Statues, which can be found in the following locations:

(Moa 1) At the start of the level, rather than boarding the Mammoth, run right past it, up the rocky hill. The Moa is behind a large rock.
(Moa 2) When recovering the Target Locator from the crashed pelican, check the rocks to the right of it, across the river. The Moa is on a rock near water level.
(Moa 3) As you look out at the canyon with the three generators which power a shield blocking your way, the Moa is on a couple of rocks on the rock wall to your left.
(Moa 4) After destroying the Lich, when you come to a small Stream (you can't touch), on a Rock at the right side of that stream.
(Moa 5) After clearing the ally full of Jackal Snipers, as you approach the Forerunner walkways, the Moa is below the left corner of the first ramp.
(Moa 6) In the room where Cortana dissappears, when you enter the room, instead of going straight to the pedestal and the yellow light, you go to the right.

Shutdown[edit]

Shutdown has Six Moa Statues, which can be found in the following locations:

(Moa 1) At the beginning you will see it in the control room (the one with the UNSC Logo on the outside wall), next to a UNSC Weapon container.
(Moa 2) In the Carrier Wave Generator Tower (Front Left as seen from Infinity), before starting the Gondola, board it and look back below the Platform where you just came from.
(Moa 3) In the Carrier Wave Generator Tower, on the second gondola override station (the one of the left of the gondola), on the right side, on the lowest level, behind a pillar.
(Moa 4) In the Data Attenuation Tower (Front right as seen from Infinity), looking from where you first enter the large, open, area, ... Activate the Objective, then continue Straight ahead to an Attenuator. The Moa is on a platform that is to its right and slightly lower.
(Moa 5) In the Data Attenuation Tower, looking from where you first enter the large, open area, ... In the far back to the left, the Moa is behind a Weapons Rack.
(Moa 6) In the third and final Tower, right after going up the first gravity lift, turn around. The Moa is in the back right of this platform.

Composer[edit]

Composer has Eight Moa Statues, which can be found in the following locations:

(Moa 1) After passing through a couple of hallways, when you first enter the hangar, instead of turning right towards the enemies, turn left. The Moa is in a dark corner of the walkway.
(Moa 2) After the first few fights in the Hangar, but before you fight Waves of enemies dropped by the Covenant alongside a few marines, go upstairs and turn right when facing the Dropships. The Moa is in a dark corner of the walkway.
(Moa 3) After fighting off the waves off enemies from the Dropships, move onwards through the door on the right. Find the stairs to the top level, the Moa is there, in a corner, behind a Weapons Crate.
(Moa 4) In Examination Lab 03 where you fight the Hunters, in the small office in the Corner, the Moa is in the corner, on top of some Lockers.
(Moa 5) When you first enter Bay 7, crossing it on foot, rather than moving towards your waypoint, stick to the right, a Moa can be found in the 'Lift 03' Area, in a corner along the wall on the right.
(Moa 6) When you first enter Bay 7, crossing it on foot, moving towards the waypoint. When you arrive at the door, instead walk left past the Mantis, the Moa is in the Maintenance Shed (Room 31).
(Moa 7) In the first room where you fight Covenant who are coming in through the airlocks, jump up to the top level. On one side there is a mini stairway down, to a small room where the Moa is.
(Moa 8) In the control room where you have to "Reactivate Defenses", opposite the control panel is a small room with ammo. The moa is right next to the weapons crate.

Midnight[edit]

Midnight has Seven Moa Statues, which can be found in the following locations:

(Moa 1) In the first room after the flying section, the Moa is high up on the wall to the left of the door that takes you to the next room.
(Moa 2) In the fourth room (the Terminal is located in room three), instead of continuing through the door on the left, move right, and look on the ground near the base of one of the huge diagonal beams.
(Moa 3) After moving through the first portal, turn around, the Moa is up high along the wall.
(Moa 4) As you arrive in the area where you have to hold out (vs. mostly Crawlers), the Moa can be seen straight ahead, on top of the leftern pillar.
(Moa 5) Near the end of the level, after being shot forward by a man cannon, run forward through the set of doors. As the Didact comes into view, jump down turn around and check the corner in the right.
(Moa 6) At the end of the level, at the 'beam platform' on the left: On the second level, behind the ramps to the third level.
(Moa 7) At the end of the level, at the 'beam platform' on the right: On the lower level in the hallway with two weapon stands, the Moa is in a corner next to the window.
