The Stand was a book from the twentieth century by Stephen King. In 2552, a Reach librarian had a copy of the book in his personal collection of genuine old tomes from centuries before. The librarian recommended the book to Staff Sergeant Marvin Mobuto as it could teach him some lessons. However, Mobuto never had time to read the book despite the librarian offering him the use of the man's own private rooms as the planet was glassed before Mobuto could return.[1]
