From Halopedia, the Halo wiki

This article is about the in-universe biographical book. For the Halo Waypoint Chronicle of the same name, see Halo: Rendezvous With Ramen.

Rendezvous with Ramen is a biographical book written by Arturo Bustamante,[1] and published by Singer-Edwards Ink in 2558.[2]

Overview[edit]

Chapter three of the book contains a story of Bustamante visiting a Sangheili-owned establishment, Rio Keep, in Rio de Janeiro on Earth. The inset pages include the recipe for one of the dishes at Rio Keep, a Sangheili rendition of the bean-and-meat stew feijoada, cooked with colo meat and Subanese spices.[2]

History[edit]

After its publication, the Office of Naval Intelligence conducted a material audit of the book, with an excerpt of the third chapter being sent to Michael Sullivan from Section Two. Sullivan was advised to allow Bustamante to spotlight the Sangheili asylum seeker Peter in a chapter about Rio Keep. Another ONI operative dismissed the content as Bustamante adding controversy for attention.[2]

In 2559, Henrietta Varadi read a copy of this book before going on duty mining titanium on the surface of KC-59.[1]

Trivia[edit]

The title, "Rendezvous with Ramen" is a play on the title of the classic science-fiction novel Rendezvous With Rama by Arthur C. Clarke.
