Transcript[edit]
Open to John-117, holding Cortana's data crystal chip displaying her avatar, and standing amid the wreckage of the UNSC Forward Unto Dawn on the inner surface of Requiem.
- John-117 (voiceover): "Where are we?"
Cut to numerous vistas within Requiem. Cut to John-117 looking at Halo Installation 03.
- Didact (voiceover): "And so you come at last."
AN ANCIENT HATRED
Cut to the Didact's Cryptum rising beyond a cliff. A startled John quickly turns around and raises his assault rifle in alarm. The Cryptum flies away at a supersonic speed.
- John-117 (voiceover): "Cortana, what is it?"
CONFINED FOR A MILLENNIA
Cut to John-117 entering a Forerunner chamber. Fades to John inspecting a Cryptum.
UNLEASHED IN A MOMENT
Cut to John activating the Cryptum, after which it emits a large burst of energy. He takes cover.
- Didact (voiceover): "We are Forerunners, guardians of all that exists."
Cut to multiple Promethean Knights translocating to the immediate vicinity surrounding John, each on a pillar. John takes aim at one of them. It translocates and disappears.
Cut to the view from John's HUD as a Promethean Knight tackles John and opens its face-plate, revealing blue screaming skull.

Cut to a chaotic Dominion game on Longbow. Cut to a multiplayer game on Meltdown, where a Spartan-IV is using the Hardlight Shield to protect himself from a Mantis' attack. Cut to a Capture the Flag game on Ragnarok, where a Warthog is speeding to Blue Base with a Red flag carrier on its passenger's seat.
