Echoes of Heroes

From Halopedia, the Halo wiki

Echoes of Heroes is a video promoting the release of Halo: Reach in Halo: The Master Chief Collection on Xbox One and PC. It was released on December 14, 2019, and was used as the main menu background for the collection during Series 1: Noble.

The video features the soundtrack Exodus and Catherine Halsey's dialogue from the level Lone Wolf playing over the Halo: Reach-themed menu background animation.

Transcript[edit]

Various shots of helmets belonging to NOBLE Team play.

  • Catherine Halsey: "It didn't take long for Reach to fall. Our enemy was ruthless. Efficient. But they weren't nearly fast enough. For you had already passed the torch. And because of you, we found Halo, unlocked its secrets, shattered our enemy's resolve. Our victory - your victory - was so close... I wish you could have lived to see it. But you belong to Reach. Your body, your armor - all burned and turned to glass. Everything...except your courage. That, you gave to us. And with it, we can rebuild."

Noble Six's birth info can be seen in the trailer.

The video depicts the various helmets belonging to Noble Team, with various bits of HUD text on-screen that provide information about the various characters; their ages, birthplaces, rank, military branch, and so forth. While most of this information is simply pulled from preexisting information on these characters, the trailer notably (and for the first time) reveals the birthplace of Noble Six to be Damask, Jericho VII.[1][2] Despite this reveal, in the later Halo Encyclopedia (2022 edition), Six's homeworld was listed as [REDACTED].[3]
