They've Always Been Faster

Halo: Reach

They've Always Been Faster is an Achievement in Halo: Reach and Halo: The Master Chief Collection. It is awarded for completing the 2nd campaign mission, Winter Contingency, without setting foot in a drivable vehicle.^[1]

It is represented by a winged MJOLNIR boots, making a reference to the winged sandals of Hermes, which were said to make him extremely fast.

Trivia

The achievement's name is a reference to a quote by Cortana, when referring to the superiority of Covenant slipspace technology - "The Covenant ships have always been faster."^[2]
This achievement will unlock before the mission is completed, right after you clear a landing zone for the Falcon.
If played in Cooperative play, any players enter a vehicle, the achievement cannot be earned by any of them.
