In Halo: Reach the achievement is unlocked by completing the Campaign mission The Pillar of Autumn on Normal, Heroic or Legendary.^[1]

In Halo: The Master Chief Collection the achievement is unlocked by completing The Pillar of Autumn on any difficulty. It is worth 10 Gamerscore, and unlocks the Emile nameplate. The Xbox achievement artwork is a Halo: Reach concept art of The Pillar of Autumn in drydock in the Asźod ship breaking yards.

Trivia[edit]

The achievement's name is a direct quote of Avery Johnson's last words.^[2]
It also could be referring to the fact that this is the final mission of Bungie's last Halo game, meaning to end their involvement in the Halo franchise with a "bang", in this case the last action the player performs is shooting down a Covenant cruiser.
