Give Him the Stick

Give Him the Stick is an achievement in Halo 4 and Halo: The Master Chief Collection. It is awarded when the player kills two Hunters in the seventh campaign level, Composer, using only the sticky detonator on single player. In Halo 4, the achievement is worth 20 Gamerscore and is represented by a sticky detonator.[1] In Halo: The Master Chief Collection, it is worth 10 Gamerscore and is represented on the Steam icon by a Hunter, and Ivanoff Station on the Xbox art.

Method[edit]

Standing from the entrance to the room, at the far left corner of the room is a supply case with two sticky detonators, which means one doesn't need to keep the sticky detonator they found in the beginning of the level. If the two sticky detonators aren't enough, there is a third one on the table in the room at the far right of the room. Aim for the Hunters' heads and backs (the exposed, orange sections), and detonate the explosive once it is stuck to either of those locations. Use the thruster pack to evade the Hunters' attacks and easily get behind them, and try not to use any weapon other than the sticky detonator.

Trivia[edit]

The achievement's name is a reference to one of Fensler Films' redubbed public service announcements from the 1980s G.I. Joe animated series. In the video, Snow Job harasses a group of children who are on his property. When he sees that one of them has fallen into a frozen pond, he yells, "Give 'im the stick! Don't give 'im the stick!"[2]
