Known in-game as the Armor Hall, armor customization in Halo Infinite allow players to customize their Spartan player model. Inspired by Halo: Reach's armor customization,^[1] Halo Infinite has a greatly expanded array of player customization compared to previous entries in the series.^[2]

OverviewEdit

Halo Infinite's armor customization allows players to change their helmet, helmet attachments, chest gear, shoulder pads, gloves, wrist gear, knee pads, hip utility, visor color, and Armor effects. Furthermore, players can customize emblems on their chest piece. Players can unlock armor permutations pieces through seasonal Battle Passes, challenges, in-game events for both canon and Fractures, and by purchasing items through the Shop.^[2] Additionally, armor pieces are exclusive to their acquisition methods; for example, items on the Battle Pass are not currently unlockable through other methods.^[3]

Players choose their armor core, which acts as the foundation for the aesthetic of their armor.^[4] At launch, attachments were locked to their specific armor core, although 343i stated they were looking into ways to open up customization to work across all cores.^[5] Similar to Halo: Reach, Halo Infinite allows players to remove their shoulder pads entirely, though unlike Halo: Reach, this is not the default appearance. As of the August 9th 2022 update, visors were made cross-core compatible.

With Season 05: Reckoning on October 17, 2023, helmets were made cross-core compatible.^[6] While armor kits were originally locked presets and could not be customized, Season 05 added the ability to change newly released kit items, including the visor, coating, emblem, armor effect, and mythic effect set. This change affects the Infinite Mark VI, Rusalka, Transgressor, and Combat Evolved Mark V armor kits. On 30th January 2024 with the launch of the Spirit of Fire operation, shoulders were made cross-core compatible.

Production notesEdit

With the release of Season 03, all icons for helmets on the Mark VII armor core released during Season 01 were updated to be more in line with those used for Season 02's battle and Event passes and onwards. Differences included a subtle angle shift and a change in the icon's visor color from gold to green. Season 04 saw the Yoroi core's icons being updated, following the same theme as the Mark VII armor core, featuring a green visor, an altered image angle, and the removal of the Gatekeeper shoulders from any applicable render.
- As of Season 04, none of the relevant attachment icons for Mark VII were updated, and the icons for the Mark V [B] and Eaglestrike armor cores remained untouched.
