The Roadkill or Splatter in Halo 3) Medal is awarded and achieved for hitting and killing an opponent with any kind of vehicle. It is available in all Multiplayer gametypes where a vehicle is available and has a Bungie difficulty rating of 1 (out of 10). It is represented by:

*Halo 2: A five-pointed star with a tire
*Halo 3: A cross with a person's waist snapped apart

After you hit and kill an opponent with a vehicle, a message will appear on your screen that says: "You splattered (player)". This is also a medal in Halo 3 campaign. It is also possible to splatter someone by launching an object at them with a explosive, or using a Gravity Hammer to perform said task. You can also splatter someone by launching a large object by using a man cannon. Plus it is possible to splatter yourself. Another way is to be squashed by an object, often a vehicle.
The Splatter (Roadkill in Halo 2) medal is awarded in campaign, multiplayer, Firefight and Spartan Ops and achieved for hitting and killing an opponent with a vehicle. It is represented in Halo 2 and the Halo 3 Beta by a five-pointed star with a tire in the center (this image was later used for Wheelman). In Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST and Halo: Reach it is represented by a yellow diamond street sign depicting a person split in half at the waist, imposed on a bronze cross. In Halo 4 the sign is imposed on a grey 4-pointed star. In Halo 5: Guardians the medal consists of the street sign only.

If you are playing Halo 3, it is considerably easier to get this medal with the Ghost than any other vehicle, because of its speed and maneuverability. However, it can be avoided by being easily jumped over.
This medal is accompanied by the message, "You splattered (player)". It is also possible to splatter a player with an object by launching it with an explosive, using a gravity hammer, or by launching a large object through a man cannon.
The Halo 3 medal also resembles the "Bob-B-Q" medal from Marathon: Durandal.

Roadkill Halo 3 Medal Icon

This medal is accompanied by the message, "You splattered (player)". It is also possible to splatter a player with an object by launching it with an explosive, using a gravity hammer, or by launching a large object through a man cannon.
