The Midnight vacation is a glitch that can be performed in the Halo 4 campaign level Midnight that allows the player to break the boundries of the playable area and explore the level at will. This is achieved by flying through one of several gaps in the invisible barrier.[1][2]
Walkthrough[edit]
First gap[edit]
- Start the level at Rally Point Alpha.
- You will spawn in the Broadsword.
- Immediately after you begin the trench run, you will come across two large projections that jut out of the top of the trench and nearly meet at the center.
- Fly up towards the left to where the projection joins the trench wall.
- Fly along this towards the outside of the map.
- You will pass through a soft kill boundary. Once you have passed through this, you will have left the map. You may now explore at will.
Second gap[edit]
- Start the level at Rally Point Alpha.
- Proceede with the mission normally until you reach the point where the Mantle's Approach exits Slipspace.
- Fly to the end of the open area where the Earth is visible.
- Rather than flying down into the passageway, fly up to the left where the wall meets the trench.
- Fly along this towards the outside of the map. You will pass through a soft kill barrier.
- Once you have passed through this, you will have left the map. You may now explore at will.
Notes[edit]
- Flying underneath the playable area will cause checkpoints to load. This allows you to proceed with the level without the impediments of the trench, and is useful for speed runs.
