Janissary
From Halopedia, the Halo wiki
This article is about the Venezian mercenary super soldiers. For the character, see Janissary James.
A Janissary (plural "Janissaries")[1] is a Venezian mercenary super-soldier.[2]
History[edit]
Creation[edit]
Venezia uses home-grown mercenaries as candidates for their super-soldier program.[2]
Equipment[edit]
Janissaries are known to use the ASSAILER-class armor,[3] BOGGART-class armor,[4] CONQUEROR-class helmet with the Banished Red Cornet Command Network Module,[1] and TASKMASTER-class armor.[5]
Roles[edit]
While Janissaries allied with the Banished are rarely given with front-line roles, some of them take those roles as the quickest way to gain access to even more augmentation procedures.[6]
Trivia[edit]
- The Janissaries were members of the elite infantry units that were part of the Ottoman Empire's army. Ottoman Janissaries ironically share a commonality with Spartan-IIs in being recruited at a young age against their will.
