A Cyclops Mark II under construction.

The Cyclops Mark II[note 1] is a successor to the HRUNTING Mark III (B) "Cyclops" powered exoskeleton. It is armed with a multi-barrelled cannon on its right "arm" and what appears to be an array of rocket launchers on the other. The Mark II is considerably larger than its predecessor, appearing to be about forty feet tall.[1] It is similar in outward appearance and profile to the HRUNTING/YGGDRASIL Mark IX "Mantis" Armor Defense System, a later model in the line of armor systems derived from the Cyclops. Likewise, it bears some superficial resemblance to the HRUNTING/YGGDRASIL Mark I Prototype Exoskeleton, a parallel successor to the Mark I.

Notes

  1. ^ This is most likely an informal name or working title used by 343 Industries developers during the production of Halo 4, as the formal designations for both the original Cyclops model (HRUNTING Mark III [B] Exoskeleton) and the subsequent Mantis walker (HRUNTING/YGGDRASIL Mark IX Armor Defense System) are designated based on their HRUNTING/YGGDRASIL lineage; "Cyclops" was never part of the official designation for the HRUNTING Mark III exoskeleton, merely a colloquial name.
