Fireteam Leviathan were a fireteam of four SPARTAN-IV supersoldiers in the service of the United Nations Space Command.[1]
History
Site 22
Fireteam Leviathan was wiped out in 2556 during a Flood outbreak at Site 22, which resulted in one of the team's operators becoming infected by the Flood, causing the now compromised Spartan to turn on it's remaining team members and proceeding to tear them apart. Consequently, Site 22 was destroyed by Shiva nuclear weapons bombardment from the UNSC Saturn. However the infected Spartan and various other infected personnel escaped by boarding a Condor and using its Slipspace drive before the bombardment hit.[1] The Condor would later exit Slipspace and crash land on the planet Atropos, severely damaging the infected aboard the vessel.[2]
Infected Resurgence
After crash landing on Atropos, a member of the Governors of Contrition that had been stationed in the planet's orbit, Kanto'Boreft, would begin cultivating the Flood by sacrificing his followers one-by-one. Pieces of the Flood-infected Spartan would be amalgamated into other Flood that were onboard, with its head becoming the head of this Flood transmitter form.[2]
