Some Thoughts

• Due to my limited resources, the only thing I can do here in Halopedia is be the janitor. I clean up, improve, correct and so on.

SPARTAN-331 is a SPARTAN-II Commando of the UNSC Naval Special Warfare Command. After the disappearance of Gray Team, a top-secret Spartan Team replaces it, under the name Gray Team-B. Spartan-331 fought in the Human-Covenant War under the call sign Gray-B2.

Biography

Conscription

331 was born on Earth on March 31, 25XX and was abducted and conscripted into the SPARTAN-II program by Dr. Catherine Halsey in 2517. While on Reach, he was trained by the AI Déjà and Chief Petty Officer Mendez along with the rest of the Spartan children.

In 2525, he and the other candidates underwent a series of augmentations to improve their overall combat prowess in several different fields. 331 was among the candidates who survived the procedure.

Early Military Career

Due to his dislike in killing humans, 331 barely participated in Insurrection combat. Most of his contribution were either providing transportation for other Spartans or planning tactics for missions.

Human-Covenant War

After the disappearance of the original Gray Team in 2551, he and 5 other Spartan-IIs were assembled into Gray Team-B. He became the second-in-command and the combat leader of the team, much to the surprise of his superiors. He was introduced to Smart AI Janet, who became a reliable ally and friend of the Spartan.

Battle of Viery

The team engages the Scarabs.

During Fall of Reach, on August 11, 2552, he and Gray-B6 went on a mission to recon Covenant Forces in the colloquialy named 'Dark Zone' under the call sign Recon Echo. They were pulled back when Recon Bravo discovered a Covenant Landing Zone. The next day, Gray Team-B took part in the Battle of Viery, engaging three Scarabs on the way. After the three Scarabs were eliminated by the nearby Longswords and the heavy frigates, the {{UNSCship|Grafton]] and the Template:UNSCship, the team progressed to Spire Two, but were pulled out as soon as the Grafton destroyed Spire One and shot by the Covenant supercarrier Long Night of Solace.

On August 23, 2552, Gray Team-B, just like Echo Team, Gauntlet Team and Red Team, participated in the evacuation of New Alexandria. Gray-B2 was paired up with Gunnery Sergeant Pete Stacker to evacuate civilians, recommending the evacuation on Traxus Tower. He heard of the presence of another Spartan, but was too concentrated in protecting civilians to contact the said Spartan. The team was evacuated that night on a Pelican.

Demolition of Sword Base

On August 29, 2552, Gray Team-B was ordered to destroy Sword Base. After flying through the vacant battlefield created by another team, the team successfully destroyed the base using M168 Demolition Charges. The team left the Eposz continent on a Pelican, flying towards the UNSC Readied Slingshot, which took them back to Earth.

Battle of Earth

On October 20, 2552, Spartan-331, under request from an Admiral onboard the Template:UNSCship, dropped down to [New Mombasa]] with a large group of ODSTs to assist a particular squad. The Prophet of Regret's Assault Carrier jumped into Slipspace moments before he changed his coordinates, knocking him to the New Mombasa Sector B with a large EMP wave. He jumped out of his pod, and hid as multiple Phantoms landed. Running past destroyed Wraiths and Ghosts, he entered the Tterrab Industries building. Three Elites, ten Brutes and eight Grunts jumped out of the Phantoms, the Spartan looked out and was dumbstruck. The Brutes lined up the Elites and executed them with Spikers. 331 jumped on to a nearby Gauss Warthog and indirectly revenged for the Elites. Fighting his way though the metropolis, with no one but Janet to accopany him, the Spartan arrived Sector 0 at the Business district. A small yellow blip appeared on his motion sensor, but disappeared as it left the radar's range. Confused, the Spartan continued the journey. He broke into the Kikowani Station and found fresh dead Covenant bodies. Quite surprised, he jumped into a Banshee that was in perfect condition and left the area. Flying through the flooded city, he flew over a destroyed Scarab. Knowing the exit is close, he left the city and flew to the nearby town Voi.

Spartan-331 foraged for a few days in Voi. He was unable to establish contact with any UNSC personnel. He spent a few days there, witnessed the glassing of the city, and finally called for evac when he found a working radio.

Battle of Installation 00

"Operation: SAND TARP is quite simple. We lead a convoy to the Forerunner structures, kill the Ghost patrols, destroy the Wraiths as well as Prowler defense, take down the AA batteries, frighten off the Covenant Corvette, mop up all survivors, and we all go home in one piece. And to mention, DeJa Vu with Viery."

Reunited with the team onboard the Template:UNSCship, he took part in the Battle of Installation 00. They assaulted a Brute control desert area on the Ark using the M312 Heavy Recovery Vehicle "Elephant". More reinforcement arrived, but with heavy weapons and turrets, the Covenant gave up their attempt retaking the area. The vehicular combat ended soon and they, along with the UNSC forces there, were pulled out as intel reports that the Master Chief Petty Officer John-117 discovered something that would end the war. Along with the survivors, the Spartan team went aboard the Covenant Separatists Assault Carrier Shadow of Intent and returned to Earth. By March 2552, Spartan-331, and the rest of Gray Team-B, retired.

Traits and Personality

Spartan331 is known as the Smart Guy of the group. He tries to keep his teammates together and cheer them up. Described as chatty, he also invent silly puns and phrases in combat. Mentioned by his commanding officer, 331 is highly curious. Due to that, he often became reckless and cause trouble for the team. Just like his teammates, he hoped the war would end and they can all retire. He cares about Marines and Troopers, and would feel responsible of their deaths. His behavior is similar and can be compared with Jun-A266.

Equipment

"331's weapon combination, M90 Shotgun and Sniper Rifle lets him takes down enemies’ shield, then gets up close and personal. Oh, and don't give him plasma grenades, you'll get jealous."

After returning to Earth, 331, like the other Spartans in Gray Team-B, received new armor. He wore MJOLNIR Mark VI Scout helmet and CQB chest armor. He has EVA should pad on both shoulders.

His weapon of choice is shotgun, his favorite being M90, along with a weapon attached with a Telescopic sight, preferably the BR55HB SR Battle Rifle or a sniper rifle.
