The missile battery in Halo: Reach.

Overview

Design

The Unidentified UNSC missile battery is a surface-to-air missile battery used by the UNSC Army. Two such batteries were used by SPARTAN-B312 to cripple a Covenant corvette holding station over New Alexandria, thus allowing three civilian transports to escape the city. [1]

Each battery can hold up to six missiles. The battery uses an universal weapons emplacement base similar to the one used by the M71 Anti-Aircraft Gun.

Operational history

The UNSC Infinity has several of these missile batteries mounted on its dorsal surface, which the Master Chief had to activate under fire from Covenant remnant forces.[2] Some of these missile batteries were deployed on a select few UNSC bases on Requiem's surface, such as Galileo Base.[3]
