Triumph of Tolerance[3] was an agricultural support ship utilized by the Covenant as a research vessel during the Human-Covenant War.[4][5] The Minister of Harmony was stationed aboard this vessel by 2551.[2][4]

Specifications

Design details

Triumph has a roughly circular fore section intersected with a large triangular protrusion extending ventrally and a smaller rounded protrusion extending dorsally.[2] Within the fore section are two habitat domes similar to those found on Mjern-pattern agricultural support ships. The larger habitat dome is set within the center of the circular fore section and the smaller dome is set closer to the center of the vessel.[2][6] The ship's aft section consists of a rounded, elongated tail which tapers toward its middle.

Propulsion

For propulsion, the vessel features at least four pairs of repulsor engines.[2]

Armament

Triumph of Tolerance possesses multiple banks of plasma cannons along its sides, as well as several turreted plasma cannons on its dorsal surface for point defense.[2]

Human-Covenant War

During the Human-Covenant War, the Minister of Harmony utilized Triumph of Tolerance to perform various bizarre experiments[4] using Forerunner gene-forges.[7]

In 2551, the ship was stationed in orbit over the recently-glassed human colony of Promise. Learning of this, the UNSC initiated Operation: METEORITE with the objective of boarding the research vessel and obtaining data from the kelguid that might lead to High Charity. As the Triumph of Tolerance was the only Covenant ship left in the system, it was seen as a prime target for data retrival.[8][4]

ORION supersoldier Avery Johnson and Spartan-II Master Chief Petty Officer John-117, operating as Libra Team, infiltrated the vessel utilizing a Spirit,[7] which had previously been captured by the Hungry Buzzards.[8] Making the their way to the bridge, the two encountered the Minister of Harmony and resistance from the Covenant crew. The fighting took Johnson and John-117 throughout the ship's corridors, research facilities, and one of its habitat domes where they liberated captured Marines who Harmony had been experimenting on.[7][9] The mission was successful in extracting data containing High Charity's location from the ship's kelguid.

To ensure the end of the Prophet and his experiments, the Marines sacrificed themselves to stay behind and sabotage the power generators so as to take down the ship's shields. John-117 and Johnson hijacked two Seraphs and took the fight to the exterior of the vessel, destroying its plasma cannons and external relay nodes to keep the ship from making a slipspace jump or calling for backup. The two battled Elsedda-pattern Banshees and other Seraphs to protect a dropship evacuating wounded Marines and then to escort the Halberd-class light destroyer UNSC Burden of Proof to its target. Once the last power generator was neutralized, the Triumph of Tolerance was destroyed with a MAC strike by the Burden of Proof. However, Harmony managed to escape from his ship's destruction in a command shuttle.[1]
