Promise, known to the Covenant as Fergea,[3] is a former human colony world.[1][2]

History[edit]

Human-Covenant War[edit]

Main article: Human-Covenant War

Promise was glassed in 2551 by a Covenant fleet.[1] Several UNSC starships attempted to defend the planet, though most were destroyed, leaving their debris in orbit.[4] The 92nd Shock Troops Battalion of Orbital Drop Shock Troopers took part in the ground battle, including Tiger Company led by First Lieutenant Williams, but the planet was lost and Tiger Company was captured.[5] The UNSC would discover that the Covenant agricultural ship Triumph of Tolerance was in orbit by July 12 of that year, initiating Operation: METEORITE.[6][1][2] The fires from the glassing still burned brightly on the surface.[4]
