This article is about the short story. For the eponymous military operation, see Operation: WHITE SAND.
White Sand is the first of two short stories included in the adjunct of the novel Halo: Parasite's Wake, alongside Red Cloud. The story's name is derived from the eponymous Operation: WHITE SAND, and depicts Major John Smith making preparations for a bioweapons program derived from the Flood outbreak on Installation 04. The story links Parasite's Wake with the short story The Mona Lisa from Halo: Evolutions.
