A gene-forge was a type of genetic engineering technology used by the Forerunners.[1] Examples of Forerunner gene-forges were later utilized and possibly reverse-engineered by the Covenant.[2][3]
History[edit]
San'Shyuum Prelates were subject to the use of the Sacred Promissory's gene-forge technology to alter their minds and bodies.[2]
During the Human-Covenant War, the Minister of Harmony utilized Triumph of Tolerance to perform various bizarre experiments using Forerunner gene-forges.[3] In 2551, Harmony's experiments and gene-forges were destroyed when the UNSC Burden of Proof blew up the Triumph of Tolerance.[4]
The shield world Cloister is said to house Forerunner gene-forges within its myriad layers; these forges are the goal of the San'Shyuum search, hoping that they may save the species from extinction.[1]
In December 2559, High Lord Dovo Nesto used a gene-forge to regrow his severed arm.[5]
