The AV-49H Wasp[2],[6] colloquially known as the Hannibal Wasp[1][7], is a VTOL aircraft in service with the United Nations Space Command, and a variant of the AV-49 Wasp. The AV-49H is produced by Hannibal Weapon Systems in conjunction with Misriah Armory[2].
Overview[edit]
Design details[edit]
- Main article: AV-49 Wasp
The AV-49H is a collaboration between Misriah Armory and Hannibal Weapon Systems on initiatives to evolve their existing offerings of weapon systems and vehicles.[1] This highly-advanced Wasp variant sports upgraded heavy armor, gauss repeaters, and experimental ion field bomb launchers[7] as well as higher speed and evasiveness than the ONI Wasp.
The armaments of the AV-49H appear to be based on the M199 heavy machine guns and M400 missile launcher of the standard Wasp variants.[3] It is unclear whether this implies that the gauss and ion field munitions fired are 7.62x51mm and 50mm, respectively, or merely aesthetically similar.
