Faithless is the fifth track in Halo 4: Original Soundtrack.
Overview[edit]
The track opens with distorted orchestral strings and percussion building up a melody, joined by guitar and horns as the melody. Strings takes over with a tense melody, then gradually simmer down. They build up with a suspenseful melody, later joined by percussion, and gradually fading to an end.

- In the campaign level Composer, when John-117 finds Jul 'Mdama's Covenant attacking Launch Bay 7 of Ivanoff Station.
- In Prologue Terminal, when Jul 'Mdama and his fleet find Requiem in 2554 and the UNSC Forward Unto Dawn three years later.
- In Episode 2, Chapter 4 of Spartan Ops, after Fireteam Crimson disables the AA guns. A strings-only version also plays during the intro and outro cinematics.
- In Episode 3, Chapter 1 of Spartan Ops, when Fireteam Crimson defends the area with UNSC gear.
- In Episode 3, Chapter 2 of Spartan Ops, when Fireteam Crimson fights against the final wave of Covenant.
- In Episode 4, Chapter 3 of Spartan Ops, when Fireteam Crimson initially arrives at "Fortress".
- In Episode 4, Chapter 4 of Spartan Ops, when Fireteam Crimson arrives at "The Cauldron". This version is lighter, though it is followed by the full version.
- In Episode 5 of Spartan Ops, Memento Mori, during the Halo: Infinity cinematic, when Jul 'Mdama is revealed being Catherine Halsey's informant and Thorne is translocated to Requiem.
- In Episode 6, Chapter 1 of Spartan Ops, where it is heard twice. The first instance is a strings-only variation heard during the intro cinematic, as Fireteam Crimson escapes captivity, while the second instance is the full variation, and plays after Crimson deactivates the shield door.
- In Episode 6, Chapter 4 of Spartan Ops, at the end of the level after Fireteam Crimson discovers the Covenant hoarding stolen UNSC nukes.
- In Episode 7, Chapter 2 of Spartan Ops, when Fireteam Crimson returns to the hangar bay onboard UNSC Infinity.
- In Episode 7, Chapter 5 of Spartan Ops, as Fireteam Crimson defends Aft Weapons Control. It is a strings-only variant.
- In Episode 8, Chapter 1 of Spartan Ops, during the intro cinematic. It is a strings-only variant.
- In Episode 8, Chapter 2 of Spartan Ops, during the opening cinematic, when Fireteam Crimson's Pelicans arrive at "Cyclone".
- In Episode 8, Chapter 3 of Spartan Ops, during the opening cinematic, when Fireteam Crimson arrives at "Warrens".

Production notes[edit]
The track was initially composed by Neil Davidge, with additions from Andrew Morgan, who added counter parts to Davidge's original orchestration. Jeremy Wheatley performed audio mixing to the track, and, according to Davidge, it only took one attempt to finalize it.[1]
