The Type 18 Magnetic/Bayonet-style Claymore is a claymore explosive employed by the UNSC Armed Forces. It was notably equipped on the HRUNTING/YGGDRASIL Mark I ADS.[1]
Overview
Functionality
The Type 18 Magnetic/Bayonet-style Claymore were magnetic and capable of sticking to metal surfaces. It could also be impaled into nonmagnetic surfaces.[1] When attaching to a surface, four supports would unfold to hold the claymore in place. The Type 18 is activated by pressing a switch, which would in turn active a red light on the side. After activation, the explosive could detonate within 5 seconds.[2]
Usage
Type 18s were employed during the Algolis Invasion. During the conflict, they were used by a Marine with the callsign Ghost, who was using a prototype power armor. Ghost used one of the Claymores to destroy a Wraith, by planting it on the tank's less armored rear section.[2]
