The Colonial Militia is a collection of defensive paramilitary forces trained and overseen by the United Nations Space Command on Unified Earth Government colony worlds. A component of the UNSC Defense Force, they fall under the authority of the Unified Ground Command.[1] They are tasked with safeguarding colonies when conventional UNSC forces are not present, and possibly to act as support and scout units. A colony's militia forces are trained by the UNSC under the Colonial Militia Training program.[2]
