Were you looking for Tribute, a song from Halo 3 Original Soundtrack?

Template:Planet Tribute was a UNSC inner colony world in the Epsilon Eridani System. Its largest populated urbanized metropolis was Casbah.[1] It was a cold planet with a history of volcanic activity. Tribute was the homeworld of SPARTAN Carris-137, who was born on December 15th, 2510 in Irbid.[2]

History

Insurrection

Tribute was one of the major focus points of Operation: TREBUCHET in 2524, where UNSC forces operated against insurrectionist bomb cells. At least one battalion of Marines were involved in operations on the planet, supported by the UNSC Bum Rush and flights of AV-14 Attack VTOLs.

One of the missions involved Staff Sergeants Avery Junior Johnson and Nolan Byrne, who led two squads of Marines in a raid on a rebel bomb shop. Three members of Byrne's team, as well as thirty-eight civilians, were killed in a Jim Dandy restaurant when a rebel detonated a bomb during a hostage situation. Byrne was critically injured in the explosion and Johnson was lightly wounded.[3]

Human-Covenant War

During the Fall of Reach, the Covenant also attacked the other colonies in the system, including Tribute. Corporal Taylor "Dutch" Miles was present during the evacuation of the colony, and witnessed the near-total destruction of the UNSC Navy escort fleet in orbit as they protected civilian refugees.[4] This gave him a thorough respect for the Navy, unlike many Marines or other ODSTs. The colony remained under siege by the Covenant fleet for some time. During the battle, Team Black was sent to Verge on a mission to destroy a Covenant beacon that was mining helium-3 to provide energy for the fleet blockading Tribute.[5]

Post-war

Tribute was either left unglassed by the Covenant or was reterraformed following the Human-Covenant War like Reach. In either case, a series of ship graveyards continued to orbit the planet's northern pole; these graveyards served as the testing ground for the MJOLNIR Deadeye variant.[6] Gretchen Navarro lived on Tribute after the war.[7]

Trivia

In the PAX Prime build of Halo 4, the Deadeye helmet's armory description states that it was tested in the ship graveyards above "the Tribute".[6]
