John-117 in cryo is an Easter egg in the Halo: Reach campaign level "The Pillar of Autumn".
By holding the right analog stick to the right in the part of the cinematic where Captain Keyes' Pelican lands in a hangar bay on the Pillar of Autumn, one can see John-117 lying in a cryo-chamber in the hangar.[1]
Trivia
- The easter egg is similar to the Buck and Monkeyman egg in the Halo 3: ODST epilogue, the only difference being that the player needs to push the right analog stick to the left in order to see the egg in ODST.
- It appears that the Master Chief has a combat knife. This is because his model is simply a normal Spartan with the right combination of armor components, unlike the members of Noble Team.
