Eris tactical nuclear weapon

An Eris tactical nuclear weapon is a type of Small Fusion Destructive Device (SFDD) utilized by the United Nations Space Command, with a yield of 10 kilotons.[1]

On June 4, 2560, John-117 was able to acquire an Eris nuke during the Battle for Zeta Halo to target the Banished's upper echelon and the massive Banished forces gathered for War Chief Escharum's funeral at the House of Reckoning. It took most of the day playing cat and mouse with Banished patrols to find and retrieve it from the debris field. Although John would've preferred a bigger payload, he and Joyeuse were lucky to have found a nuclear weapon at all, and it would still inflict considerable damage. Joyeuse was able to use Despondent Pyre's encephalon to take command of two Aggressor Sentinels to sneak it past the Banished defenses.[1]
As the Banished leadership devolved into in-fighting and Jega 'Rdomnai fled with Lucas Browning, the Master Chief had Joyeuse detonate the Eris once 'Rdomnai's Phantom was clear. The nuclear explosion destroyed the House of Reckoning and at least most of the gathered Banished forces. Although some may have escaped the blast radius by pursuing 'Rdomani, the shockwave would hopefully tear some of those out of the sky.[2]
