The Eris tactical nuclear weapon is a UNSC nuclear weapon. It is classified as part of the Small Fusion Destructive Device category (SFDD) with a yield of 10 kilotons.[1]
History[edit]
On June 4, 2560, John-117 recovered an Eris nuke from the debris field during the Battle for Zeta Halo to target the Banished's upper echelon and the massive Banished forces gathered for War Chief Escharum's funeral at the House of Reckoning. Joyeuse used Despondent Pyre's encephalon to take command of two Aggressor Sentinels to sneak it past the Banished defenses.[1] As the Banished leadership devolved into in-fighting and Jega 'Rdomnai fled with Lucas Browning, Joyeuse detonated the Eris once 'Rdomnai's Phantom was out of its blast radius. The nuclear explosion destroyed the House of Reckoning and at least most of the gathered Banished forces. Although it was likely some may have escaped the blast radius while pursuing 'Rdomani, the shockwave would have likely taken down some of those aircraft.[2]
