The Gateway is a Forerunner structure on the Shield world of Genesis. It is located in the Coral highlands of the planet, hidden by the region's bio-readings. It serves as a link to the Domain.[2]
History
Ancient history
While the Gateway was monitored by the Forerunners, it was rarely used by them. When the Halo Array fired during the Great Purification, the Gateway closed.[2]
Post-war
However, when Blue Team was brought to Genesis in October 2558, Cortana manipulated them to begin opening the Gateway by activating several consoles.[3] Blue Team was eventually forcibly brought through the Gateway.[1]
